I still have to catch myself sometimes when they say "I see Dr. So-and-so" and I go "Where do you see him...or her?"
People don't understand exactly how deeply and unconsciously some biases are. To the point where they'll be in the act of doing something discriminatory and still be worried they're the ones being discriminated against.
This is total and complete horseshit.
Using gendered terms is just normal in a language, even one as gender neutral as English. In English the only completely gender neutral generic noun is "It" and how do you feel about referring to a doctor or lawyer as "It". Otherwise your just *** over your own language trying to "say him, her or other (since Otherkin is a gender now) which is complete ***.
Your not naturally unconsciously assuming all doctors are male and thus imposing your patriarchal oppression on everyone. Your just speaking in your native language using the millennia old phrasing.
Now if you did something like say "I don't know if I trust a women doctor / ect." then that's 100% sexist.
That is the type of ***that is being shoveled onto people in rural area's. Rural people just speak using normal language and having someone tell them their "wrong, sexist and horrible people" for using "him" when referring to a gender unknown entity is just *** and they see right through it.
