Actually the refugee ban is turning off a LOT of Christians.

And its timing, on holocaust remembrance day, turned off many Jews.

Look I get it people think the morally right thing to do is accept refugees but that isn't the smart thing to do.

Please remember the original AH rule; don't be a douche.

If you can't respond in here without what amounts to the text equivalent to farting in someone else's direction because you disagree with them, you don't need to be here. Shape up or ship out.

Chanti' post made me think of that comic. The end.
I can't post that in other threads because it's too politically charged.
It's still a horrible example to use against the dangers of unvetted immigration.

We are surprisingly a country that doesn't allow our ***citizens to go to other countries freely.

You won't believe the hoops and hurtles it takes to become a non-US citizen after you are one (or was born one). Let's not forget the 5% expatriation tax

Welp, indefinitely lost a friend from work. Looks like anyone outside the US, despite having a green card and working towards full citizenship is locked out.

Feels great man. That's what she gets for having family I suppose.

...you do realize that almost all of the terrorist attacks that have been happening around the world, and even those in the US, have had foreign nationals going to their home country (even those classified as refugees) under the pretext of visiting family.

Not saying that everyone who does this is a terrorist, but when it's the most common event, do you blame the US government for responding in kind?

Also, not saying that this is the best method to stop terrorism either. All this is a reactionary situation, one that Bush II tried to prevent after 9/11.

We brought the worst of this. Then again, Clinton's solution of allowing unvetted immigrants, even citizens who become rationalized to come inside the border (pretty much an extension of Obama's policy) is just as bad as this.

How many more marathons and night clubs must be bombed before people get the hint?

Judge blocks part of Trump's Muslim Ban

Quote:
A federal judge in Brooklyn, New York issued an emergency stay on Saturday that temporarily blocks the U.S. government from sending people out of the country after they have landed at a U.S. airport with valid visas.

The order barred U.S. border agents from removing anyone who arrived in the U.S. with a valid visa from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. It also covered anyone with an approved refugee application. The Department of Homeland Security said that more than 170 people were denied entry to the U.S. as of Saturday night, according to Reuters.

The ruling by Judge Ann Donnelly of the U.S. District Courtfor the Eastern District of New York came during a hearing called after President Donald Trump issued an executive order blocking people from seven Muslim-majority from entering the United States and putting a temporary halt to refugee admissions

Twelve refugees were detained at JFK Airport within hours of Trump's order restricting immigration from seven majority-Muslim nations -- but two were released later in the day -- as hundreds of protesters continued to amass at the busy airport throughout the day and into the evening.

One of the Iraqis, Hameed Jhalid Darweesh, 53, was released by midday Saturday. “I suffered to move here, to get my family here …. I can’t go back,” Darweesh said shortly after his release, according to the New York Post. Asked if he’d be killed in Iraq, he answered: “Yes, yes.”

Hameed Khalid Darweesh, an Army interpreter in Iraq, had been stopped as he traveled with his wife and three kids when agents pulled him aside, according to the New York Times.

Saw those approval numbers plummeting in Gallup and Quinnipac. Fun times.

Still no one cares. Chanti mentioning banning refugees made me think of it. Deal with it.
You care enough, since you are defending your own post.

I care enough, so does Ravael, for pointing out the obvious counterpoint.

Most of the terrorist attacks in the united states since 9/11 have been white american men shooting/blowing places up, so...

Also, she's Mexican.

I got pretty happy when I saw that, but that only stopped the detention of those already here. Valid Green Cards and Visa's are still barred from making a move into the United States at this point.

Still, it's something. Here's hoping it gets overturned and some stupid ***such as her (and others in the same situation) don't have their properties seized and sold off. You'd think we'd have learned after the japanese internment camp ***.

Federal judges never stopped Obama, why would they stop Trump?

Federal judges stopped Obama all the time. One stopped Trump today. Nobody cares about hyper partisan polling. Better luck next time kiddo.
