Whatever your government is planning I hope you're all ready cause the next economic crisis will be next year and it will be way worse than 2008. It's gonna start from right here in Italy.
Hold your domino tiles tight.
Does have to do with the PM resigning?
Why did he resign and how is going to effect my video game purchasing power?
Yesterday's referendum was about changing various articles in our constitution to make our political system more stable(right now it's famous for being a clusterfuck in constant gridlock) and reduce its costs. However - and Renzi himself is at fault too here - it turned out into a vote about the current government and as you would expect, in a country that has not recovered since the 2008 crisis and is as depressed as a teenager, the vote turned into one of protest against the government that is taking all the blame. Hardly anyone even knew what was trying to change in the constitution.
And since the population gave a *** you to Renzi personally, he basically gave a *** you too in return and resigned(you don't want my reforms then it's not my place to be here).
NOW..Renzi resigning means there will be elections soon and right now the party with the biggest momentum is the Five Stars Movement(M5S) which is a populist party that is all over the place in the political spectrum, but basically they just block everything that ever enters the parliament kicking and screaming. But most importantly(leaving aside the many reasons why I despise their leader)the first thing these guys would do if they went into power would be to leave the EU and the €.
If Italy leaves the euro there is a very very very high chance many of our banks would go belly up(our banks are the most indebted in the world and on the brink of collapse as it is already).
Now, if Italy alone doesn't do it, our dropout would make other countries leave too, bringing even further economic chaos. Deutsche Bank is the next up. Then come Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, etc...
It's a domino effect that we can trigger that could seriously *** up many many people all over the world, not just us here. You're welcome.
