Ah ***. I *** that up without edit. Deleted and fixed.

Only two of Pa.’s largest cities have air that is of average quality or better than average, Scranton-Wilkes-Barre (50 percent) and East Stroudsburg (75 percent). For some context, notoriously smoggy Los Angeles (7 percent) and Houston (8 percent) are bad, too. But New York (41 percent), Chicago (17 percent) and Boston (74 percent), all bigger than Pittsburgh, have cleaner air.

Nuclear is a current option.

It's not ideal, but it's damn sure cleaner as we work toward something even better.

Here's the thing. If you force these coal and gas companies to pay good wages/benefits to employees and provide safe working conditions, you'll see the fervor for these fuel sources dry up pretty quick...

I was unaware those companies didn't pay more than minimum wage with no benefits.

I've seen gas above 4 dollars and no sign of this "fervor" drying up.. So I guess I don't understand how its going to happen when it is under $2.

The point is it shows PA has below standard air quality and we shouldn't be burning that ***anymore.

K, shut all these down.

300+ steel-related businesses.
Aside from steel, Pittsburgh has led in aluminum, glass, shipbuilding, petroleum.

Then when The Steel City looks like Detroit you can claim success. Because that is exactly what you guys are asking for right now.

This is what you call trying? You have no familiarity with the state of Pennsylvania yet you are trying to talk about it as if you know more than a current resident. So please, stop "trying."

The funny thing about the nuclear option is people are all for it until it's time to build the plant then it's "Yeah we want nuclear power, but NOT IN MY BACKYARD!!!"

we're so dumb.

Childhood asthma is practically ubiquitous in the middle class and down in Pennsylvania.

Between the air quality and the amount of poor people who smoke like chimneys, it's not really hard to figure out why.

Really the better question would be "Why do I even *** care anymore?"

Not having kids, could make bank by going evil overlord mode. World's outcome after me doesn't mean a thing to me from a pragmatic standpoint.

*** conscience. Awful.

Don't put it in my backyard. There's not enough space between me and the nearby amazing Italian market to fit a nuclear plant.

If you want to put it across the street, however, I don't mind if you wipe out my neighbors.

Also, related.

For a while there, near San Antonio, there was supposed to be a nuke plant built to help supply the energy needs of the area (reality, South Texas as a whole, including those hippies at Austin). There were some hippies who didn't like it, so they ended up nixing the project.

They just now finally wrote off the investment this year.

Personally, I think it's BS, but what can you do now? Except go on a hippie-hunting spree that is.

I also didn't say anything about steel.

I did. Or at least implied it.

And hey, if they can manage steel and coal without tearing up the land and turning the earth, water, and air into a *** mess...go for it.

But I don't see it happening.
