So, since chatter about the mod policies/etc seems to occasionally clutter up the social threads, which isn't really helping anyone, let's try giving it a separate thread.
Ask questions, suggest things, etc. Let's just keep it here instead of polluting the other threads, where there's a lot of people who could not care less (and shouldn't have to).
And it should go without saying, but behave yourselves.

How accurate is communication between mods when an action that requires everyone's consultation has to be taken?
Cause, from past interactions, it appears there's a lot of word of mouth, which isn't too great. Telephone games have been the bane of this website lately, someone telling someone something and at the other end it's become a totally different narrative as it passes through people. edit: sorry for asking a seriuos question, I didn't realize it was a thread for people to bs in

That actually is the point, but I don't mind some jokes on top of it. So, there's a lot of telephone, you're right. It's gotten better; a lot more focus on getting the actual text of things (like PMs) and working from the source material, as opposed to "well Bob said that Jim told Sarah that...". There's a mod-only section of the forums and a google hangout, and I try to share full text whenever I have it. But yes, it's not been a strong point in the past. I've tried to do better about that, and there's always room to improve. Valefor.Sehachan said: » We might have to cut down on that! I don't think any user would be against having their pm shared between other mods when the matter is about actual moderation.

Whenever it's come up, people have been happy to share amongst the mods. The problem usually comes when the report comes from a third party (the "it's harassing a friend" type of report).
