[XIV] Heavensward Discussion
I thought it might be fun to have a Heavensward discussion topic, so I made one in case anyone wanted to use it. :)

Music is great, people are dragon.
I'm not gonna lie......I kind of want that fat chocobo mount after seeing it lol. >.>;
I got on this morning for a little bit before work. The DX11 graphics are a noticeable improvement! Not much else to say. I'll check it out this weekend in more depth.
I'm liking the look of the Mythrilite Zweihander, but I got so much story to go through to unlock HW content.
My concern for FFXIV is if all future expansions are going to be linear. This means I fear if to get to new expansions, you're forced to go through every minute of story... FFXIV is linear in a way FFXI never was, due to the nature of vertical progression, as opposed to horizontal. It wouldn't shock me at all if that's the way they went with it, to force you along the intended progression path (and limit the number of dialogue branches needed).

Yeah it sucks; at least the story is somewhat decent for an MMO lol.
I just came back to the game after being gone longer than a year. I remember quitting as soon as i finished my relic weapon lol. Game is so much different now X_x. I'm being forced to finish the rest of main questline just to do the new content though :/ It's really not that much if you focus on just doing the storyline
Yeah but still, having to go through all of it if you're a new player that got attracted by a new expansion, you have to play everything else before you can get to what you want to play.
I think I'm just worried there will be BC fights requiring people lol. But i think ff14 does a pretty good job at letting you solo the entire game thanks to le duty finder lol.
The story wouldn't make any sense to them without playing ARR anyway
Besides, the areas are made for 50+, why would they even go there

Especially with the added exp bonus to the <50 quests
I'm thinking of picking up ninja since everybody else will be leveling all the other classes. How does ninja play? is it like a monk dps?

I blame Tigerwoods(creamsoda) :| Nin is one of the best DPS whereas drg is still the worst I don't see any similarities between the two >.>

idk if i can stomach starting that far back lol. what level do you have to be to unlock nin? D: 15 any job to unlock Rogue

What I just realized and im kinda confused about is that you have to complete the entire story of ARR to do the 50-60 job quests... I understand making them finish to do heavensward story, but 50-60 job quests? XD
So realistically, if someone were starting from scratch how long would it take to get "caught up?"

If you went fairly hard, probably a week. [Edit: I take that back, I forgot how much is in some of the later patches. Did the 2.1->2.5 story quests always give out ilvl70 gear for rewards?
