Download Ffxi PC? /facepalm

ive been playin ffxi since 2004 and i been playin PS2 then Xbox then back to ps2 lol
ive had to buy thegame 3 times now lolo
and iwas wondering since i already have content ID and stuff do i really have to buy it AGAIN but for PC???
all i need is POL and FFXI so why must i pay for the stuff id pay for 3x /facepalm
help would be nice :P

I hope that you do, otherwise I'm gonna feel stupid. I've bought it several times when i've had to load the game on a new pc or whatever lol.

You can find the game on torrent or if you have a friend that has the PC version to download on your computer.

Find a copy at a used video game store ^^

I leech from friends for stuff I need. PC version is nice for the fact that you don't need the disc after it's installed.

Alot of game stores won't resell a game that has registration codes. I know gamestop and this other game store nearby wouldn't trade or sell used games that had the reg codes.

Need to be able use torrent files through a program like utorrent! Not many seeds, so it could take a little while.

Also to continue with Caiyuo's comment, you can use limewire as well. ALSO there is a copy of the game on fileshack for download.

Think about it before you download a copy... nothing to stop someone from dropping a keylogger or other backdoor into the copy - too many people getting their accounts taken over for anyone to get too trusting of warez copies.

Your risk tho - but I'd buy yet another copy if I were you.

Also, for a while there was that trial disk they were doing for $4. I think it came pre-loaded with the expansions. You'd probably be hard pressed to find it now though.

Ya, I torrented the game and all expansions this summer when I started playing again cause I could not find my discs. It works because your registration codes are stored in your account.

Of course, I found my discs like 3 days later in a box. lol

copy the game folder from a friend onto a portable HD, copy to your PC, run some reg updates.

1hr copy > 6hr install+patch

when i initially installed ffxi on my computer, i just used a demo disk to install it. course it was an old one that didn't have wotg on it, but it worked just the same... didn't have to worry about trying to find a safe site to download from and it was only a couple of bucks.

When I first began playing, I had been playing on PS2. I was then told that the PC version was superior due to the higher resolution, so I got my buddy to lend me his discs. I then created ISO images on my HD and have had them like that ever since. I've burnt a few copies of the ISO's onto DVD's as backups (I burn the ISO file itself.. so I have 4 or 5 cd's on a single DVD). Whenever I need to do a restore, I just get my dvd ready and spin away. Helps a ton.
