At least it doesn't actually matter how good Fang is because you have to Retaliate the fight anyways, any character can auto attack into Gilgamesh.

Wow I finally beat Rubicante. I actually had a 10x easier time using a mage setup than advance + retaliate.

Vanille has Oerbas Boon and Y'Shtola has Medica II. Having 3 AoE heals might just be enough...

Having at least one AOE heal seems almost necessary, I couldn't really imagine not doing it with one unless you got really lucky. I used Yuna Regen+cure SB. Yshtola had SS2, if you have two AOE heal already you might wanna use that as your RW. In your setup though steal time doesn't work iirc, you would be better off with steal power to boost your spellblade. I'd also use a second heal instead of faith because you wont really have time to hit everyone with haste/faith you will be taking a lot of constant aoe dmg. I'd have her with a nuke and cure.

I don't have the Orbs to hone Steal Power up which is why I am using Steal Time sadly, I realize it isn't optimal. I was just subbing Y'shtola in as a buffer over what I was previously using, which is Wakka, because Haste at least seems really important for this fight. Maybe I will drop the Faith since that is a lot of buff management. Just don't know how well my nukes will do without any form of boost like Faith or Mental BD.

Yes, steal/mug time wont work. Steal Power is the best option as its the best offensive buff but if you dont have it (and neither can farm it in time), your best bet against Rubicante cloaked form is Steal HP (or Steal Defense).

Give me your mages magic stats, RM and spell tier that I can calculate it for you.

Wait like it straight up doesn't remove the cape form? I know Steal HP has the problem of being able to trigger the counter so I thought Steal Time would be better.

Rinoa is at 345 MAG, Witch of Succession, Waterja/Waterga.

Vanille is at 310 MAG, Attunement II, Blizzaja/Blizzaga, She also is using Ice Rod 5* which I know adds some sort of damage buff to blizzard nukes.

SB gauge fills quite fast with all that aoe dmg, you could put the halloween hat on someone to use AOE magic boost if you have that.

All -ajas will cap dmg even without buffs/debuffs.

Without faith, Rinoa will hit for 6805 and Vanille for 6944. Faith will increase those number up to 9194 and 9381 respectively.

The 6805 and 6944 are for -aga spells then I assume? We'll see if my -aja hones are good enough I guess then. I have 8 uses of Wateraja which should be fine, but only 6 uses of Blizzaja, if I do have to resort to using agas my SB should be filled up to start using Witch Hat anyways which isn't as good as Faith but still should help.

So I wonder what I should do for that last slot. Celes would be ideal but shes too low level. Maybe Rydia with Shiva/Blizzaja and instead give Vanille Haste/Blizzaga to make her a support role.

This game seems pretty easy-mode, granted I just started, still going through nthe classic dungeons with my default team, but the 5-star Zantetsuken I have on my main char still obliterates anything it hits, even bosses, while most don't get 1-shot by it any more, still get hit pretty damned hard. Do the battles get any harder on higher levels?

Try out a 160 difficulty dungeon

Events are time limited though there are always 1 or 2 ongoing at any moment.

Those events feature a specific FF game and have as rewards characters sometimes just available in that event, and their MCs. Aside high rank orbs that are rare otherwise.

Events have a more noticeable growth compared to dungeons. In its lasts stages, it has the current hardest mob in game.

Again, as its time limited, it should be your starting point. Build a team and check how long you can go, them return to dungeons. The Classic mode should be designed to average party of lv30 so it shouldnt be hard anyway. The lasts stages of elite mode should be designed for party over lv65 with noticeable gears and abilities. And those 2 requirements are kinda hard to meet for a short time player, as it requires lots of pulls and orbs.

Yeah the game isn't hard at all until end game which is tuned around you having high hones (and high level apells are very hard to hone) as well as good relics. New players also get more help now with a free 5*, the beginer banner, and roaming warriors demolish everything until elites.

Also remember to farm Wind Orbs today for lifesiphon hones today!

Aww, so my 5-star Zantetsuken wasn't super lucky getting it on my tutorial? lol Oh well. I've been saving all my mythril for rare relic draws. Gotten a lot of crap but I also got a 5-star gun and a 5-star Judgement Staff that only my whm can wear arm. Still trying to unlock classic dungeons. I got up to FF4 Lodestone Cavern so far.

Which beginner's choice relic should I choose? (I was able to get back into my older account!) Thancred's? Which is the most useful?
Current team is Cloud, Y'stola, Tellah, Thancred, and Kain with just regular characters in reserve from story mode

You get that for free? I looked at that beginners choice draw and it seemed like it was charging me 50 mythril I was like *** that.

You make a x11 draw and you get a free additional sb weap among a limited list.

On that note I haven't even done the beginner's choice myself cause there's always a banner I wanna try my luck at and I can't save so much mythril for that!! *currently trying hard for Edge's katana*

Yeah it isnt free its just additional to a normal banner and guaranteed.

Also I beat Rubicante. I ended up ditching the Y'shtola faith plan, as you guys recommended, and instead used Tera with Haste + Magic Breakdown. Steal HP since I couldn't hone power. Oddly enough I *** up and Vanille hadn't mastered Oerbas Boon so I couldn't even use it..

Same, I would like to get Tyros book eventually but right now its focus on Lightning SSB then save for hastega or a wall.

I like my Stornlance Grimoire. Its a high quality SB, despite Tyro having low stats.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious but what exactly is the X11 draw?

You spend 50 mythril for 10 pieces of armor, weapons etc. and they give you one piece for free. and if you do the beginner relic banner you get a relic weapon of your choice from a list for free as well.

Just click on an event you're interested in and it should have the option to x11 draw. Its better to save your mythril for events you really want pieces from.
