If you need accuracy in the Ring slot, I personally think Ilabrat ring is better than Chirich +1. Not quite as much acc, but it gives +25 atk.
Honestly though, the best thing you can be doing is getting segs and RPing that Nyame. I know that sucks, but Nyame is legitimately amazing.

Note that the 90% cap is applied after the 50% NM nerf, so it's possible to stack 180% of mixed all ailments and specific status resist, which is then nerfed to 90% on NMs.

dang I doubt its reasonable to incorporate enough -ailment gear that your just not a soft punching bag in sortie. ill just stick to mdb and magic evasion I guess. ty for the info on the 50% nerf for NMs.

It takes... a lot to get up there for NMs, and you wear some gross stuff. Even then you can only hit 180 for certain statuses that also have large chunks of specific status resist gear/traits.
Most of the time, I don't wanna wear all that junk anyway, but there are some cases that could be worth it, like charm if it's happening to often for fealty to cover, etc.

Nothing gets resisted in Sortie. As a PLD just hold hate and help cure.
Aminon just stack INT,meva,MDB as you get comfortable you can drop some for roller's ring and regain gear etc.

I'm just tinkering around w/ magic damage for holy. and banish. I haven't found clear information on how important divine magic skill is for these.

Beyond making a dedicated cape for it that looks about right. As far as skill goes i think it just acts as macc for banish unless divine emblem is used where it becomes a damage bonus, but there's not really any good divine swaps worth looking at iirc

I have a question about the effect of using Caballarius leggings with Sentinel. BG-Wiki says with the +3 leggings, PDT reduction starts at 128% instead of 90%, and that the effect decreases by 8% with every tick whether they are worn or not. Is there a benefit to keeping the leggings equipped throughout the duration of Sentinel, or do you only benefit from using them on activation?
As an example, say you use them on activation and start at 128% PDT reduction, but immediately switch into other leggings once Sentinel is in effect. On the next tick, would you go down to 120% PDT reduction? Or down to 90% or 82%?

No, definitely not. You wear Cab. Leggings (and all of it's upgrades) on activation only. (Same as what Dekar said as well)

Thank you both to Felgarr and Dekar. I had it set up in Gearswap to work on activation only, but was going over my gear sets and started to doubt whether I was getting the full effect.

Frankly, all you need for aminon is Aegis and a decent stoneskin set. Everything else is gravy.
I'm sure you could do it with prime shield, but it literally double's your risk.
Aminon idle set should prioritize in order:
Magic Damage Mitigation (Meva, MDB, Nullification) (NOT ABSORB)
Store TP for generation This was stupid, you're taking 0 damage
Excalibur is the defacto best option for damage as it gives you a decent WS that breaks up the wall that you can spam at 1k. Can also do prime sword at least stage 3, but it won't feel as good as excalibur because you have to save TP to get big numbers.
Having a kiting set is a plus.

Aegis is required, not optional. Both for PLD and especially for this specific task.
What's a dedicated cureset look like for this role?
This is what I would use for any cure where you're being hit by an enemy (or more than 1) and therefore at risk of being interrupted.

What else should I put on my shopping list?
SIRD set for non-cure spells, both for this and for other events. An enmity set for JA activation, Flash, etc. Good idle set. All the +Stoneskin pieces PLD can use. Capped out +Phalanx received set. Shouldn't need too much more.
I don't have too many of these sets plugged into FFXIAH right now, but here's what I use for idle, you could/should use something similar. Keep in mind you want to avoid Warder's Charm for Aminon so she doesn't absorb. Some people make riskier idle sets for Aminon and/or put in more MDB (Vanir Battery, Adamantite body) to make Stoneskin last longer.

Burtgang is incredible and should be a top-priority item. Regain sphere body is nice if you can swing it, to give your team more TP/tick.

Thanks guys looks like I might have more of this than I thought.
As for the pld/run is interesting to me
I went into this thinking that pld would play the whm and tank roll as well
Also has me questioning how passable RUN would be for the time being
While I have played quite of few of the roles involved in a successful 9 boss I have yet to play tank especially a tank that cures in place of a whm
My current challenge is getting my group to understand the kite method / concept for just an 8 boss
the current weakness for this other group is our tank options for this strategy

You can run pld/sch, but /run offers a bit more hate spiking potential which allows your DDs to be more aggressive out the gate, /sch offers more utility like mass snk/vis. The cure portion can be done fine as either sub and most/all ailment removals will generally be done through meds that everyone should have on hand, you're just meant to mass heal as needed. Once kiting goes well the healing necessity drops a fair bit outside of spamming on ami and doing C/G, as everything else can be walked around and wont really damage anyone unless they grab hate off of you

afaik RUN can work, but its much easier as pld, especially on the curing aspect since you'll be stuck as run/whm spamming Cg3 vs pld having natural access to Cg4 through majesty, plds also ironically a lot better with taking ami than RUN just due to the added mdt II from aegis, run can do the same role but you'll actually need to be watching SS, wheras PLD can ride theirs most of the fight due to the added MDTII of aegis

Even a Pld with just aegis and a cure/sird/dt set is easier to do aminon with than run. Add excalibur and can contribute to dmg too.
Rest are nice to haves. Aegis and cure are only hard requirements.

What's a dedicated cureset look like for this role?
This is the set that I use. I've taken a lot of my Souveran out of my cure sets because the low magic evasion kept getting me killed. While some of the other pieces aren't swimming in Magic Evasion, any extra is better. Likewise, I've moved on from focusing on enmity as curing against multiple targets isn't the best way to raise enmity.
