I would like to see them add a feature that lets us spend Job Points gained on a job we have achieved 'Master' status with on other jobs. Say for example you reach 2100 on Corsair and want to progress your Puppetmaster (one of many jobs not on the go-to list for many setups), you just join on your Corsair and spend those 500 Job Points you get there on your Puppetmaster.
I suspect that Job Points are going to be a requirement for Aeonic weapons in the next update but if you have 2100 on a job that has a frankly ***Aeonic then you might as well use those extra Job Points for something else.

Would be cool but I don't see that happening. Would be nice to least have the CP bonus % carry over from each job but I doubt that will even happen

Quote: Freshly Picked Vana'diel 22 Digest
Greetings,
To coincide with the November version update, Producer Akihiko Matsui held another "Freshly Picked Vana'diel" to go over some of the new content and discuss other topics pertinent to adventuring. The following is a digest of what was discussed.

We’ve just implemented the final chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel with the recent, major version update. During Freshly Picked Vana’diel I talked about the content we added as well as plans for the future, so please give the digest a read when you have a moment.

Rhapsodies of Vana’dielThe final chapter has been implemented. I had the lead event planner, Saito, give an explanation about the process until the cutscenes were complete. Check out the archived video and watch as he shows how he takes a text based scenario and develops the animations, the backgrounds, and everything needed to make a completed cutscene. There are a lot of flashy action scenes in the final chapter, so be sure to keep an eye out for them when you play through the missions.
Along with the final chapter, we also introduce a new area, Reisenjima. The map creation lead organized the various parts together to give it a very Japanese feel.
Furthermore, we’re also in the midst of a special collaboration event with FINAL FANTASY XIV – “The Maiden’s Rhapsody.” During the event, Iroha will find herself in Eorzea. The event lasts until December 31st, so go lend her a hand.
Seekers of Adoulin QuestsWe’ve added the new quest “Vegetable Vegetable Frustration.” Completing this quest will reward you with an item that will allow you to feel kinship with the NPC Midras.
Aeonic WeaponsWe’ve added a new quest line for creating a new set of weapons – Aeonic weapons.
During the stream we showcased the new ultimate skillchains that are possible with these weapons. When wielding an aeonic weapon, you’ll gain an aftermath effect when using the weapon skills learned through merit points at 3000 TP. While under the effect of the aftermath, performing skillchains with certain weapon skills will activate an ultimate skillchain. There’s a 7 second window for magic burst after creating this, and I think you’ll be excited to see the damage. The aftermath will wear off after executing the ultimate skillchain, so it’s effective to wait until it’s about to wear off before doing this.
The quest we added in November is just an introductory quest for making the Aeonic weapons, and it’s not possible to finish making them just yet. One thing to note is that the process of making these weapons won’t be something you work at slowly over time, the concept is to earn it by defeating a lot of powerful enemies.
Marsyas, the Aeonic instrument, grants you the ability to use the special song “Honor March.” This effect of this song is quite close to combination of Sword Madrigal, Archer’s Prelude, Valor Minuet III, and Advancing March all rolled into one.
Relic, Mythic, and Empyrean Weapons
Except for the shields and instruments, we’re planning to enhance the stats of each of these special weapon groups. Naturally, this will include Ergon weapons as well. To give an idea of what we are aiming for, we showed off some example stats for Excalibur, Burtgang, and Almace during the stream. Additionally, we debuted the stats for Sequence. Be sure to pay attention to the damage value, combat skill increase, and the other bonuses.
Domain InvasionWe added the notorious monster Quetzalcoatl to Reisenjima. Also, as a counter measure against lag, we made it so that unrelated monsters will no longer be displayed during these battles.
Geas Fete AdditionsBesides Quetzalcoatl, we added a number of notorious monsters to Reisenjima for Geas Fete. Additionally, there was a large amount of feedback on the forums to make it so lottery-type monsters do not spawn, and we added in two key items to address this: mollifier and radialens. The latter allows notorious monsters to be spawned and fought continuously.
Unity: WantedWe added Hydra-, Cerberus-, and Khimaira-type notorious monsters. Additionally, we’ve made it so even if you do not have the Records of Eminence objective you will still be able to participate in the battle. This should make it easier to help other adventurers in the fray. However, those that help will only earn experience points (or capacity points if the content level is above 119).
Mog GardensWe unlocked rank 7 for monster rearing. To coincide with this, we also implemented a quest with Chacharoon. Be sure to give lots of love and care to the newly added Dragon Hatchling and Pequetender.
Record of EminenceWe increased the cap for sparks to 99,999 because there are a lot of times you’d hit the cap without even realizing it. Additionally, we added several objectives that appear after completing a specific amount of objectives.
Job AdjustmentsWe adjusted beastmaster by making familiars the targets of certain abilities and pet commands. With this change, a sub-target will appear on the familiar, and you’ll be able to determine whether you are in range to execute the command based on the color displayed. If you’d like to target yourself, which was the standard until now, you can do this by creating a macro.
For puppetmaster, we increased the enmity values for the Strobe and Strobe II attachments.
We also expanded the merit point and job point systems by boosting the caps on each category. To coincide with this, we also added new gifts. Reaching 2,100 points will unlock “★Master!,” which gives you a special job trait, title, and animation. For those of you who wish to hide your master status, you can do this by using the text command “/jobmasterdisp off”.
Trust InitiativeWe increased the area of effect of all Protectra and Shellra magic, which has reduced the need to individually cast these spells on party members and alter egos that were out of range.
We also introduced some new alter egos during the stream. Check out the archived footage to see examples of battle with Iroha and Shantotto II. Iroha can skill chain and Shantotto II can follow up with repeated magic bursts.
Iroha can execute 4 skillchains by herself. You can indicate when she does this by using Meditate. She can be obtained by progressing through Rhapsodies of Vana’diel.
Shantotto II only uses one type of elemental magic, but it is extremely powerful. Additionally, her auto-attacks have elemental properties, and she will select the element that your opponent is weak against. She can be obtained through the November Login Campaign.
We also showed off the various ark angel alter egos we are planning to release in the future.

ConclusionThank you very much to all of the adventurers that continue to support us and welcomed in the final chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel. Please enjoy the cutscenes and story that the development team has poured their energy into making.
Looking towards the future, we will be holding another version update in early December. This update will include the completed Aeonic weapons.
Additionally, after April we will be implementing monthly battlefields and Records of Eminence content. I’ll be sure to let you know more details soon. Furthermore, service for the PS2 and Xbox 360 will end in March of next year, but before this we are planning to have another version update as a show of gratitude.
Rhapsodies of Vana’diel was created with a large feeling of thankfulness. If you haven’t yet, we’d love for you to try it out and look forward to the future. Thank you very much.

I don't think I like the concept/execution of Aeonics. The ones that are actually good will just reinforce existing SC->MB strats, and those that aren't (or are attached to jobs that struggle to find a place in such a setup) will have all the value of a Claustrum.

very difficult to think of an application for that, especially if they're the base potency of each song.

Seems like a weird mix, I wonder if they screwed up when describing which tiers. Like, why would it be Sword Madrigal but Archer's Prelude?

The fact that the AM isn't tiered means that if it lasts long enough, it might be pretty cool. The skillchain bonus in particular interests me. Also interesting to see how the burst damage bonus is applied.
For the ultimate skillchain though, it seems pretty crap. The window doesn't seem much longer than just a regular skillchains for magic bursts. Unless they dramatically improve damage or reduce the dt from consecutive bursts, I don't see how it's better.

All I know is that the artwork/graphics are nicely made on the weapons, and I am going to Lockstyle them, all while using Koga. #LockStyleAeonics

Unless they dramatically improve damage or reduce the dt from consecutive bursts, I don't see how it's better. Given the competition from RME weapons, I'm willing to bet the go-to niche for Aeonics will be 1-2 DDs doing cycles of 300 TP -> aftermath -> self SC for burst damage via SC/MB. They might hold up in more general use for certain weapons/jobs depending on exact numbers, but I suspect that will be the exception rather than the rule. I certainly have no immediate plans to pursue Sequence pending further information on Aeonics; even finishing Almace as an offhand for my soon-to-be-completed Tizona will probably take priority.
Despite the relevance to current strats, it's an oddly dated concept in another sense. Such weapons would have been right at home in oldschool exp parties and /THF SAWS HNM strats back in the day for instance. Guess we've come full circle.

I believe the wording in the campaign is odd.
I think the double drop only applies to eschalixirs and stones - so instead of getting a possible 2 for personal drops of those items you will get a total of 4.
By Mookies 2015-11-21 01:12:03
I think it's personal drop slots, which can, rarely, drop gear.

They lowered the high amounts of bayld you get from Drifts delivery quests buffed every other asigment and coalition. You can see that as a buff from SEs side, however a nerf for daily Kamihr spammers.

They nerfed the delivery quests because they require no effort to finish. They actually buffed the peacekeeper coalition ones which require fighting so it's not that unfair. Just require effort.
So they were specifically targeting people making bayld with mules using imprimaturs.

Hopefully they will adjust the recognition per imp, so you can rank up the coalitions in a reasonable amount of time. It's sorta silly if you can get all the ranks for mythics in a matter of hours, but still take months to get the coalitions maxed...

Quote: The development team is currently looking into the following three options for addressing the issue where players cannot avoid certain Geas Fetes.
Only adjust the size of the battle area for the area around Eschan Portal #9 in Reisenjima.
Reduce the size of the battle area for all zones.
Keep the size the same as it has been.
Please let us know which option you prefer and we will relay your feedback to the development team.
In addition to addressing the above in the December version update, we will also be making adjustments to the number of regular monsters found in Reisenjima. This will make it a bit safer for clearing content that involves the “???” for Geas Fetes.
By Pantafernando 2015-11-24 15:43:01
Quote: Thanks for all the feedback on this.
The development team has been discussing this internally based on the comments received globally and their testing, and they have decided to proceed with the second option, reducing the size of the battle area for all zones, which will be implemented in the next version update.
Currently the battle area for Geas Fete has a radius of 50 meters (100 meter diameter), and when reduced it would become a 35 meter radius (70 meter diameter). The effective range of magic spells is 20 meters, so this would be balanced perfectly to not feel inconvenienced. However, I believe it will be hard to imagine without actually participating in the fight.
During testing, we tried addressing only certain areas, and while nothing out of the ordinary developed in the addressed area, there was a concern that critical issues may arise on other areas. In order to avoid any unwanted situations from arising, we decided to proceed by addressing all zones at the same time.

Hi.
Dev tracker is a kind of feed in Official Forum that highlight (in the left side bar) posts from development team to players demands, questions and sugestion. Given that those answers are given by someone who effectively works with the deveopment of this game, they can be considered as official and true.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php
The japanese side of OF has its own dev tracker, that normally is way more active and detailed than english side. If someone feel like translating it to bring the info, feel welcomed too.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/search.php?searchid=15480698
BG site has one specific topic just to publish and discuss those official answers, and i think ffxiah lacks something similar as not everyone here check BG or OF, so lots of details/dev opinion are missed. So, thats the point of this topic, anyone who see new info in dev tracker feeds, quote it here, and start a discussion if you feel like.
Starting now, a couple of new dev posts were released after march update annoucement. Here they are:
Trust changes

Dev answer to a sugestion to add new ways to obtain dusk type of alluvion skirmish stone.
Quote: Since dusk-type stones were just implemented, we'd like players to do alluvion skirmishes to obtain them, so there are no plans to add the ability to trade other items for these stones at the moment.
However, we'll look into increasing the amount in circulation and the means of obtaining them in some way in a future version update.
Monster rearing news:
Quote: [dev1262] Mog Garden Adjustments
Monster Rearing will undergo the following adjustments.
A monster's mood will no longer degrade from "beaming with pure contentment" after collecting items or interacting with the monster.
The collective moods of all creatures will generate auras of light or darkness that affects them all.
Light
When the number of creatures beaming with pure contentment is greater than that succumbing to darkness, all creatures’ contentment and mood are increased.
Darkness
When the number of creatures succumbing to darkness is greater than that beaming with pure contentment, all monsters' contentment and mood are decreased.
The following information will be displayed when entering your Mog Garden.
The number of days left on assistants’ contracts.
The current affinity of the Mog Garden.
Mog garden gathering points will undergo the following adjustments.
It will be possible to scrap any unwanted flotsam directly without receiving it in cases where the player’s inventory is full or he is otherwise unable to recover it.
Sugestion about blu traits having aditional tier info.
Quote: This is something that is difficult for us to address at the moment as we would have to send data each time you open the menu to see which tier you currently have. We're concerned about this largely affecting UI response time.
Similarly the same holds true for saving the data client-side as well. Since all of the trait data for this would have to be saved, it would consume large amounts of memory, which also makes this feature difficult to implement.
