Any tips on which DD trusts I can try out? Been looking for some variety, but don't have the time to check them all out.
Zeide II is pretty solid, he only use's ground strike and will attempt to SC with you while gaining TP pretty quickly. Ground Strike has a hefty attack bonus and it's Fragmentation/Distortion so depending on the WS you open with can be used to link a SC.
Noillurie is another pretty solid trust, she gets TP hella fast and will spam Kaiten with is Fragmentation / Light. Tenzen is also pretty good now, he gains TP fast and focus's more on closing SC's off whatever you do, so you can use him to link a multi-step SC.
Maximillian used to be pretty solid cause he attacks extremely fast but doesn't do SC's well which limits his usefulness compared to the other hard hitters.
No DD or nuker trust will come close to what a real player can do ~but~ you can use the DD trusts to link SC's for you.

For long fights Mayakov is quite a good DD, think it was parsed to be among the best? (keep in mind that "the best" among trusts is still "***" xD)
Mayakov has the problem that he prioritizes landing debuffs (steps) on the target. These moderately benefit himself and you, but kill his dps. Once he's done with that he's gonna start spamming WS and he can become quite nice.
Dunno, just something to consider if you're gonna fight something that you know is gonna last a while.

Zeid II is pretty great. Good ws dmg, gets tp fast to the point can self skillchain, pro stunner. Downside kind of suicidal at times.
Iroha II is interesting. Can Mb reasonably well has some support functions but mostly I like her 300 tp mediates into the 5 step double lights complete with MB flare IIs. Dmg isn't insane but it's solid and fun to watch lol.
AAMR actually looks like it might have potential. Was actually getting 5k-8k ws against byakkos when it could actually get tp lol. Little use I've seen if you do manage to get it behind mob it will line up and prefer sneak attack ws which is nice.
UC Naja Salaheem has some niche uses. Dmg is pretty meh but she has high proccing OA1-4 times and gets like 200 tp per hit so even without much haste before the trust haste update she could self skillchain pretty well. On top of that she only uses 1 ws that can change each time you call her out so with some work you can get the one you want and set her up to be a perma skillchain buddy

I like AAMR for DDing. Best ive seen her do is 15k on t2 escha zitah fish. She will save tp for Trick Attack or Sneak Attack WS. She will TA any trust or player in front of her. And if she is behind mob she will SA Rampage usually. Plus that TH1.

AAMR is pretty bad. Just for the simple fact she gets TP slowly.

Zeid II and Iroha II are the ultimate SCH solo companions. Iroha will always close Fusion and Zeid will always 3-step it into Light.

In my experience, Shantotto II is fantastic for leveling up characters. She closes skillchains and MBs for high damage, and wrecks enemies even when they're a much higher level. It's quite possible that she loses her value on CP mobs, though. This. I also can't speak for CP mobs.
She and Zeid 2 like to make L3 SC and she MBs them twice. If you engage a mob and they both have TP it could be dead before you swing.

Said it already but in before >20 mils mats (annoying to farm of course) for a >lv120 T0 synth! XD
SMN body is the new BiS for BP Wards btw, and interesting option to precast/midcast for avatars.
Granted that getting interrupted while summoning an avatar isn't really that much of an issue these days, eh

Certainly would be better than having it be a T0 craft where all you can do is throw gil and pray. Wouldn't count on it though, been ages since they did anything with synergy.

People seriously underestimate the power of MEVD and MDB in not getting plastered in a bazillion pieces. I hate that people only like to look at the JP's or one or two Gifts and think that's all they "need".

MEVA+117 comes at the cost of no MDB on it Would be useful in an MEVA macro to avoid pure enfeebles, at least.

Hi.
Dev tracker is a kind of feed in Official Forum that highlight (in the left side bar) posts from development team to players demands, questions and sugestion. Given that those answers are given by someone who effectively works with the deveopment of this game, they can be considered as official and true.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php
The japanese side of OF has its own dev tracker, that normally is way more active and detailed than english side. If someone feel like translating it to bring the info, feel welcomed too.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/search.php?searchid=15480698
BG site has one specific topic just to publish and discuss those official answers, and i think ffxiah lacks something similar as not everyone here check BG or OF, so lots of details/dev opinion are missed. So, thats the point of this topic, anyone who see new info in dev tracker feeds, quote it here, and start a discussion if you feel like.
Starting now, a couple of new dev posts were released after march update annoucement. Here they are:
Trust changes
Quote: [dev1261] Alter Ego Adjustments
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following content.
Walk of Echoes
Wanted battles
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following mission battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess missions
When Wills Collide / Maiden of the Dusk
It will be possible to summon alter egos for the following quest battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess quests
Champion of the Dawn / The Dawn Also Rises / A Forbidden Reunion
-----
Dev answer to a sugestion to add new ways to obtain dusk type of alluvion skirmish stone.
Quote: Since dusk-type stones were just implemented, we'd like players to do alluvion skirmishes to obtain them, so there are no plans to add the ability to trade other items for these stones at the moment.
However, we'll look into increasing the amount in circulation and the means of obtaining them in some way in a future version update.
Monster rearing news:
Quote: [dev1262] Mog Garden Adjustments
Monster Rearing will undergo the following adjustments.
A monster's mood will no longer degrade from "beaming with pure contentment" after collecting items or interacting with the monster.
The collective moods of all creatures will generate auras of light or darkness that affects them all.
Light
When the number of creatures beaming with pure contentment is greater than that succumbing to darkness, all creatures’ contentment and mood are increased.
Darkness
When the number of creatures succumbing to darkness is greater than that beaming with pure contentment, all monsters' contentment and mood are decreased.
The following information will be displayed when entering your Mog Garden.
The number of days left on assistants’ contracts.
The current affinity of the Mog Garden.
Mog garden gathering points will undergo the following adjustments.
It will be possible to scrap any unwanted flotsam directly without receiving it in cases where the player’s inventory is full or he is otherwise unable to recover it.
Sugestion about blu traits having aditional tier info.
Quote: This is something that is difficult for us to address at the moment as we would have to send data each time you open the menu to see which tier you currently have. We're concerned about this largely affecting UI response time.
Similarly the same holds true for saving the data client-side as well. Since all of the trait data for this would have to be saved, it would consume large amounts of memory, which also makes this feature difficult to implement.
