Burqas are now a symbol of empowerment. Wear it loud and proud, sister!
True feminists attract men with their eyes only.
Well that's good. Nothing attractive comes from their mouths.
Edit: Okay, that was harsh. Here's Pinky Pie.

Does Islam require forced IQ tests?

Does Islam require forced IQ tests? probably have to have a mandatory double digit score or something, or just have it be an inverse relationship with age.

Have you never been exposed to people of the Islamic faith especially in the CS and Engineering intensives in Virginia? Seriously? You're in CS, and you still have these leanings?
You've touted Islam as the end-all-be-all of humanity, but I'm starting to wonder if you've been properly exposed. Arab-Americans are pretty damn moderate.
I was told in Frankfurt to be wary of Arab guys, but the Arab-Americans can be just as agnostic as the next person.
This is a bad argument, really is.
No, it's not. It really isn't.
From back reading over the weekend, I wonder how you would assert this logically, unless you're obliging yourself.

This is the internet Zah! A magical place where anyone can be an expert on any subject without demonstration of experience. It's like a sublime taco cart on the ethereal shores of a digital beach where jackanapes from all walks of life gather to dispense sophomoric wisdom whilst.....

As to the bold: no I haven't...
As to the rest: yes I know some Arabs in the computer fields, honestly I don't know if they're all Islamic or not, but I do know that going off the class size they're about average. (anecdotal I know, but you brought it up, not me).
As for the other thing: yes, yes it really is. I know plenty of people who aren't parents who know better than a lot of parents, having children doesn't make on a great parent by default. People can know about how to raise a child without ever having one, I realize that this will probably be lost on you and I'm not sure why I'm wasting my time, but if you don't understand that point then we best just drop it.

Then give yourself to Allah. 72 virgins eh?
I'll pass, that's a lot of work to teach 72 how to do it right.

Here's a nifty tip from a buddy who actually has a PHD in Early Childhood Education (don't ask, her husband still /facepalms): To increase your child's dexterity, break crayons in half so they have to adapt to holding them like a pencil.
/dusts off hands
There. Something constructive. Interesting.
I've been meaning to make a thread about "play, sensory, and craft activities" to see what ffxiah parents have found was fun or not so much fun for their kids at different ages.
I'll have to finish that and let the exchange of ideas (or not) commence!

Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark
Over 70% of Danes are members of the state church. Danes also self-identify as atheists heavily but they really enjoy their cultural traditions.
Christmas, Easter, and confirmation are actively participated in by the majority. As well as Fastelavn, st. John's eve, St. Martins day, prayer day, ascension day, and whit sunday.

I see the master's IQ dropped by 5 digits while I was asleep. That's a fast decay!
Anyway, this is a honest question: can someone with such a low level of english graduate so easily?
By Blazed1979 2014-09-24 04:02:18
What the hell is this?
Have you ever been around kids?
If you can't feel happiness (oxytocin) you will have a severly difficult time bonding with your child.
Not to mention that fact that your brain chemistry will change if you live with the mother of your child, before and after birth.
Hormones affect a lot more than you seem to understand.
When I first learned about the changes a man goes through after becoming a father (well a decent father; involved, living with the mother, around, not getting drunk every night etc) it blew me away.
Also, there is way too much self-validation going on from certain person(s) in this thread now for me to take any of them seriously.

There is no question that many people have been killed by those who wish to convert others to their religion. It's not just Muslims killing Christians, it has happened for just about every religion out there.
Specifically about islam, though, I'm trying to understand more about what various religious writings have. From what I can find, there are statements from Muhammad that both dictate forced conversion as well as statements that dictate leaving others in peace.
For example, here's a statement that appears to be forcing conversion: Quote: Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said: "I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform that, then they save their lives and property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah."
And here's one that says leave people alone: Quote: I shall exempt them from that which may disturb them; of the burdens which are paid by others as an oath of allegiance. They must not give anything of their income but that which pleases them—they must not be offended, or disturbed, or coerced or compelled. Their judges should not be changed or prevented from accomplishing their offices, nor the monks disturbed in exercising their religious order, or the people of seclusion be stopped from dwelling in their cells.
Are these really just contradictory messages? I know religious questions are effectively impossible to answer, so I'd like to phrase things this way: Are Muhammad's writings 100% for forced conversion, 100% against, or do they give conflicting advice?
