I could have linked two different sites but i think this one is more appropriately named.

Maybe I'm just being a bitter western Pennsylvanian, but it started long, long before NAFTA.

Woo... let's blame the North American Free Trade Agreement for the loss of jobs that were happening prior to, and outside of it's control.

Considering the origins of NAFTA (that most people barely understand) was an agreement of free trade - as in removing tariffs and import/export fees for all goods being traded between North American countries.

Of course, job loss is happening more so from sending out manufacturing contracts to places overseas, poor work scheduling, automated scheduling from software developed by companies like Kronos for use in places like Starbucks, incentives for managers to cut hours (thus forcing people to find other limited work sources, that eventually gets cut due to a lack of consumer trust in product developers)

No mention of the work on Nafta during the Regan or Bush administration?

Also what about the voting congress and senate at that time?
Congress 132 Republicans 102 Democrats
Senate 34 Republicans and 27 Democrats

That article was probably one of the dumber economics article I have ever read. I have one phrase to respond to it "Comparative advantage".

Yes, I agree. Let's destroy the ice maker and refrigerators too. I mean, Canadians need to have their ice selling jobs back!

To be fair to Altima (hey, you shock yourself every day with the things you find yourself saying, eh?), the article decidedly shits on both parties toward the end.

Frankly, how do you take yourself seriously posting anything off of a fear-mongering site like that?

Truthfully, the absolutely most useful information on that site is some of the "survivalist" products being advertised on the sides are good for actual, regular camping.

Though I dunno; maybe I should get right on bulletproofing my home in case Obama comes to take my automatic firearms away.

I though NAFTA provided jobs or something. Maybe I'm thinking of CAFTA that provided a new labor force.

Did you read the article? I'm 100% sure I've never said Republicans are the answer. However, you have to be terminally insane to for vote a democrat.

For all you people that are all (but the republicans worked and voted on it) Sure they did and right before it was about to pass this happend.

"Prior to sending it to the United States Senate Clinton added two side agreements, The North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation (NAALC) and the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC), to protect workers and the environment, plus allay the concerns of many House members. It also required US partners to adhere to environmental practices and regulations similar to its own."

Our "partners" never adhered to any of the above, while the USA just tossed out more rules and regulations... Gee what happens when the USA enforces and the other country's don't...

Edit: Also, if you don't get your news from every angle "huff post, dailysheeple, fox, msnbc, cnn, abcdefg..." then your just asking for biased news because they all have a slant.

When they send jobs overseas so they can make the product cheaper, then send it back to the US.. Gonna have to go with YEA ><

Can you honestly say you've never bought anything from a country that lets employers get away with slave labor then ship the product to the US?

Alti this was quite bipartisan.

Remember, 85% of the people who buy Democrats buy Republicans too.

Also remember Ross Perot and "That great sucking sound?"

Rand Paul is the new Ross Perot. Only he is doing it the way that could possibly get him into the white house.

You're targeting the wrong policy, as usual.

Employee rights and sensible environmental protections are never a bad thing.
