For two people who like to regularly criticize the reading comprehension of others, you both really have a knack for missing the point in such a fantastic manner. So now you're changing your tune when faced with the obvious fascism it represents. Bravo, backpedaling like a boss.
Yet to see a point or something even resembling a rational response. All you've given so far is, we only grow corn and you deserve truffles.
-Socialism: You have two cows, the government takes one cow and gives it to your neighbor.
-Communism: You have two cows, the government takes both and gives you part of the milk.
-Fascism: You have two cows, the government takes both, and sells you the milk.
-Nazism: You have two cows, the government takes both and shoots you.
-Bureaucracy: You have two cows, the government takes both, shoot one, milks the other and pours the milk down the drain.
-Corporationism: You have two cows, corporations buy cows then send both cows to China, China milks cow and sells u the milk.
-Capitalism: You have two cows, you sell one, buy a bull, have calves, milk the cow, sell the offspring and and the milk.
Conservatives support capitalism and to an extent a degree of Corporationism because they are your cows you can do whatever you want with them.
Liberals support all the rest because they can't think for themselves.

His only argument was that the USA only produce's corn, and he wants truffles, but he thinks he made a valid point about free enterprise. Even though it turns out the USA HAS TRUFFLES! Since you rush to his defense you're just as bad as him. Which we already all knew anyways.

I made the point that without limiting free enterprise, you can't grow everything Americans may want. We don't produce enough food to feed all of America and we still have to pay farmers NOT to grow food simply to keep them afloat. The only way to make producing all of our own food viable is to limit people's access to other markets. Once again, you're happy to limit only the freedoms you don't care about. That's what makes you a neocon.
And for all your posturing about life skills, you failed at the one thing that America pays people to do poorly.

Dude probably has never made schwarzwalder kirschtorte in his life either! Real kirschwasser is hard to come by in the US BTW!

Care to explain the "price support" system? The old system where the government bought and stored crops that farmers couldn't sell in order to prop them up, then letting them rot in storage to limit the commodities market prices. Or the 2008 farm bill that granted huge holes for farmers growing certain kinds of crops that could be used for biofuel even if they didn't actually sell them?
In fact, the subsidies go so far as to pay people for having lower income, not even tax credits, but direct payments. They're even eligible for food stamps while receiving as much as $65K per year in direct government payouts.

Oh my bad it won't taste exactly the same, maybe you should move to that area of the world just so you can have the specific taste you want. Screw everything else right!

So... Farmers are getting paid specifically to not sell their crops or not grow them at all in order to keep prices high enough to be profitable, but we should totally grow a ton more food nobody wants to buy. Makes perfect sense.

I've been defending the angle that the USA can produce enough food for everyone in it, even by stopping the importation of food overseas. You've just been talking out you *** about anything you feel contradicts my point, and have been failing the entire time.
Its not my fault the only way you know how to debate is to talk in circles.

I agreed that we could produce enough food to feed everyone, but only by limiting people's access to other markets. I guess another method would be socializing all the farms, I'm sure you don't support that. You're backed into a corner... Either you support limiting producers and consumers ability to meet on an open market or you support continuing to pay farmers not to produce a product.

Gonna have a hard time producing all that food when the Ogallala Aquifer dries up in the 2020's.

And I said stop importing food from overseas and this problem would solve itself. Then you said "but I don't like corn". need I repeat myself over and over. or can you learn to read.

Or maybe, to bring Jassik's earlier point 'round to home, you shouldn't be bitching when people pay a little extra for quality, whether it may be an import or not?
Maybe you should consider a BS in Ag Science, considering a few of the bombs dropped in this thread and a couple of others?
I'll stick to my Argentinian wines also. Terrified of AmishOmega's terlet wine.

Fair enough.
Though I find it strange you sing the praises of Russia when in twenty years they've reached a point of Capitalist corruption that took the United States 200 years to reach.
