I do hope they also raise the caps. Example as a magic user you can have +16 skill in a category. I would love to raise my staff skill to the heavens as well as dark magic. Not just take the extra points and put them in Geo or bard singing.
But we shall see.

Its very nice SE doing this right now.
After i demerited 2 mules from 12 points in INT and redid all those merits (96 if iirc) in DEX...

These changes only increase the number of total increases spent in these areas.

Nope. Pretty clear right there. 15 HP 15 MP 15 Merit. They aren't raising the cap on HP or MP.

Reading and comprehending what has been read is proven to be difficult for many it seems.
I'm having trouble with that myself. From what I read it sounded like they were letting us open up 15 extra merits to add to our totals but if you look at the numbers that doesn't make sense. Does each max merit point open up a category or something? Otherwise why go from 32 - 56 combat skill merits if we can only upgrade 15 of them?

From how I read it, they are only increasing specific attributes to 15 (eg STR, DEX, MND) whereas combat skills will still only go up to 8 so now we'll be able to max out 7 categories.

Yeah its frustrating to keep building lights and then its time to spend merits.
The biggest problem I have is *nobody* uses keys and if they want in alliance as chest popper its for about 15 mins then they go zombie mode. I always end up nuking, opening all the red chests, and pulling. Kind of makes it more trouble then its worth.
I know merits are "Extremely easy" but with all the key items and now with 45!!! cap on stats its becoming almost as grindy as dynamis.

This seems moderately silly. Between this and iLevel gear, at what point would it be simpler for SE to just unlock further levels? Because that's effectively what the stuff simulates.
If I recall correctly, player level is stored as a hexadecimal value, so there's no reason it can't reach 256 (presumably there's no such thing as level 0, though Wild Rabbits in Ronfaure and similar mobs may be coded as such).

I'm actually amazed SE hasn't populated Adoulin with Level 3 ObnoxiousStatusAilment mobs.

Merits open up is ok i guess would be better to be able to store merits like job points and have 200 in reserve. Or better increase merits in the weaponskill area. And i dont know if i read this right but are peoples assumption of best exp gain is abby exp. You are just going to double your work abby does not give job points and addolin exp solo with trust magic is faster exp per hr. 30 merits should only take you 35 min.

They actually admitted the vote came out favoring 100, but it hadn't occurred to them this would involve people getting level 50 subjob JAs/Spells, so they reneged.

It might be odd but if that is their reasoning just cap our subs at level 49. Would be nice to see the stat vomit off gear and just see natural stats on armor. I would also like to see us get Job Traits up to 119. Jobs like THF need a new tier of Evasion Bonus for example.
