Yeah, I don't advocate fraud there bub.
When we make enough money, we can just pay off the regulators. You don't get to the top in America without slitting throats, swinging fetuses by their umbilical cords and clubbing a few (dozen) baby seals.
Besides, if those investors weren't smart enough to do their homework, they deserve to get crushed by someone more intelligent. Only the strong survive in this competition and I'm not about to let pesky morals stop me from achieving my rightful place at the top.

Not sure if serious....
Gold is actually falling slightly, so buying it (and holding it) may be a good idea...at least in the long run.
Not sure if serious....
Gold futures contracts are finite, measured in months. CME, iirc, is 3 month contracts. Tokyo Commodity Exchange is 6 month contracts. Unless you think that 3-6 months is a long time.

Not talking about the contract. I know several companies that are buying the actual mineral and holding/selling it at a future date.
Yeah, they are buying contracts too, but their main point of business is holding.

Are they holding in the warehouse in Chicago or IL to avoid the taxes?
Holding for an individual is a bit different than holding for a company. Since a) the company can usually purchase much higher amounts and b) the taxes/warehouse fees are usually high enough to eat into the profits significantly or to make it not worth it

That's why I'm in the pro-"I don't give a flying rat's ***" group.
Because I don't give a flying rat's *** if you have an abortion or not. If it was my wife/girlfriend and I, I would personally take responsibility for not wrapping my junk. If she wants an abortion, that's her choice and I would respect that. If she wants to keep the kid, that is also her choice and I would respect that too.
If she wants the abortion and I'm not married to her (and don't plan on marrying her for whatever reason), I would at least give her the option to take the kid myself and raise him/her as a single parent. I would even go as far as not asking for child support too. Still her choice though, and I wouldn't fight it period.
But when it comes to other people, I don't give a flying rat's ***.
That's the same position I take on the matter. Conservatives really shoot themselves in the foot by insisting on that as a platform issue. I'm far more concerned about the economy and which policies are in place and not strangling the economy.

I have to agree here. I kinda wish people would just shut up on social issues for a little bit (on both sides), as it just distracts the government from issues like the economy. When all that's on the right track, we can go back to partisan bickering with the other stuff.

I think we could ditch social issues indefinitely. At least on the scale of actual important issues.

Agree. Gay marriage abortion etc. Not going to get me to vote one way or another.
Economy taxes etc are what I'd be persuaded on.

The stock market has little to do with the economy. Or reality for that mater. Well, it is an indicator as the daily activities of the economy. Not a complete readout, but just one piece of the puzzle.
With the stock market bit, I was referring to the 189 point fall on the Dow today due to the Fed intervention (for good for once).
It isn't an indicator of anything but the market. Trust me on this.
That's called a technical correction. Earlier it went up 500 points. For no good reason.
Quote: Full disclosure: I learned all I needed to know to play the market before I was 10. I have never bothered to utilize that knowledge. Yeah, and I bet you that it still doesn't help at all today. As long as I don't utilize it, nope.

Gold is actually falling slightly, so buying it (and holding it) may be a good idea...at least in the long run. Actually don't buy gold, buy stock in mining companies.
It costs $X to extract gold from any particular mine. Lets say it costs $1K/oz to extract it from J. Fred Random mine. When gold goes past $1K/oz stock in J. Fred Random mining Co. JUMPS.
When falling short sell stock in J. Fred Random mining Co. at about $1022.
I told you I knew this ****.

I think we could ditch social issues indefinitely. At least on the scale of actual important issues.
For the common stock, everything is about social issues because well, you can blurt out whatever ***runs from your mind without a problem. It's why people get so butthurt when you present evidence to the contrary and why the Constitution becomes whatever it needs to be in order to win your argument. Social issues are up in your face and relevant to daily life. What happens in Iraq or some far-flung hellhole is at best on the periphery.
It's easy to hate people you don't know, crib passages you heard about in your holy book you've never been arsed to check yourself or blindly follow some politician that resembles a person you'd like to be because it fits your agenda or worse - a mindless football game of red vs. blue. Obama likes scrambled eggs? I hate scrambled eggs. And eggs. and chickens. and birds.
Start talking about foreign policy, the economy, jobs, trade, environmental issues or specific topics relevant to a municipality and it becomes a complex conversation that requires prior knowledge in order to engage in - meaning most people have nothing to say.

And yet the people who do know something about it are often found arguing over social issues. It's kind of a problem that perpetuates itself.

But that is probably enough information from that.

I find it easier to argue over social issues because i dont drag the internet around all the time to fact check people or i cant slam my binder full of facts on the table because that ***is just too heavy to lug around everywhere :(
Its alot easier just to give point blank answers that can fit on a few laminated note cards to answer why we cant have nice things :(

I didn't realize that pro-choice was now associated with no restrictions on abortion, which means (to me) there has been a shift on what pro-choice means to people compared to the 70's-90's.
The second civil war. Confessions of a diabolically evil war profiteer
Republicans have boosted some of the best ideas the liberal progressive front has come up with. It was me. I stole them.
Including but not limited too incrementalism, using 501(c)(4)s, and even the tea party has broken down and hired media consultants to try to not look like they are wearing tin foil hats when they go on tv news interviews...
Ok so one of these tactics is incrementalism here is a paper about it
and it's diabolical counterpart the defense against incrementalism.
Which is simply digging in and never giving an inch anywhere for any reason.
So let's bring this in to a different heated debate Gun Control and what we see is groups like the NRA understanding the tactic of incrementalism and defending themselves against it by vehemently opposing any law that even smells like gun control.
So why is that important and what does it have to do with a woman's rights?
Well simply put this explains why women's rights and quite frankly all issues have devolved into what can only be described as trench warfare of attrition. Pushing for minor incremental gains and then staunchly defending by digging in once ground has been gained.
Right, so the only thing that matters in a war of attrition is?
You guessed it.

501(c)(4). Don't include actual charities into your diabolical plan! Those are the pity-me-and-take-my-money organizations that the rich use to claim zero taxes on their returns.
