In conclusion, PART 1 I disagree with your assertion that pro-choice will dwindle into the minority via culling themselves. PART 2 The right over who has control of a woman's body has been fought for years and will continue.

It's math how can you disagree with it!?

57 million abortions in the US alone since roe v wade. That's a hell of a lot of supporters / potential voters that aren't going to be going to the polls any time soon.

Statistically speaking the majority of children follow the ideological footsteps of their parents. If the pro life side has more children by way of fewer abortions than the pro choice side then someday there will be more pro lifers than pro choice.

It's really not very complicated.

Yeah. She should run for president!

It would great to watch the conflicts arise from the DNC.

You have a pretty face with no substance. Somebody who likes to open her mouth to say stupid things. And she is from Texas (which is a big no-no for any democrat).

It's like she is a liberal version of Sarah Palin!

It would be watching a dog trying to decide if that disgusting bone is worth the effort...

I see a lot of holes in that logic.

I have 2 daughters & would fight vehemently to keep the filthy government out of their health issues.

I use MSNBC as a news source to keep myself honest.

See, unlike most people, I can read between the lines and dissect the truth/fact from the partisan BS.

Plus, I always get a laugh at how out of touch liberals are on the comment section.

There are no holes. it's math and statistics.
Statistically speaking both of your daughters will feel the same way you do.

whether they actually do or not is irrelevant. we are talking about probability across 330 million people

It's really not very complicated.

>>Assuming every abortion is done by a woman who is pro-choice.
>>Assuming a 1 to 1 ratio on voters.
>>Assuming no variation on children vs parents on political topics.
>>Assuming religion doesn't already place propagation as its most important task for perpetuating itself.

In conclusion, this is a non issue because it's happening right now. You have lifers who continue to follow their dogma and many people who don't care siding with choice or indifference.

The previous generation was largely against gay marriage and LBGT issues for the most part and this generation is decidedly more open on the topic. The kids coming up behind me will have grown up in a world where gay people are literally everywhere.

You could make the same arguments regarding music, people of color, technology, dating practices etc etc etc. Generations overall have different feelings on topics based on the atmosphere they happen to be born into. What will always remain static are dogmatic pro-lifers who still believe man rode Stegasaurus 5000 years ago.

It's really not very complicated.

There are a lot of assumptions in your premise with only two data points (57 million abortions and majority of children following parents political choices).

1. That pro-life parents will have more children than pro-choice parents.
2. That by being pro-choice you have had an abortion or will have one
3. That by being pro-life you have never had an abortion or will never have one
4. That pro-life children will reach adulthood and still retain the right to vote
5. That those 57 million would have reached adulthood and retained the right to vote
6. That pro-choice/women's rights issues follow parents ideological footsteps
7. That the ease of information communication today does not influence children/young adults political ideologies
8. That political ideologies stay constant throughout the life of the voter

Studies conducted since 1972 show that abortion remains, as they put it, remarkably stable and the majority do not consider it the major issue when voting. That most voters aren't absolutely pro-life or pro-choice but a combination of both.

Yes, that is unfortunate. Would you have read you can see that even her ex-husband and children, who were ages twenty-one and fifteen at the time, were and still are supportive of her.

Quote:
Amber was 21 and in college. Dru was in ninth grade. Jeff Davis was awarded parental custody. Wendy Davis was ordered to pay $1,200 a month in child support.

“She did the right thing,” he said. “She said, ‘I think you’re right; you’ll make a good, nurturing father. While I’ve been a good mother, it’s not a good time for me right now.’”

Quote:
Davis’ daughters, now adults, are supporting their mother’s campaign for governor. Both appear in a campaign video on her behalf.

Quote:
Jeff Davis said the financial difficulties that Wendy Davis faced before her second marriage were real.

“A lot of what she says is true,” he said. “When she was 21, it became a little easier for her. The first 21 years were about working one, two and three jobs, trying to get through, raising a kid, driving an old Toyota pickup truck that was the smallest you could find.

“She got a break,” Jeff Davis said. “Good things happen, opportunities open up. You take them; you get lucky. That’s a better narrative than what they’re trying to paint.”

If you would have done any independent research you would have known by now that the abortion filibuster, that was her claim to national fame, was not her only filibuster, and that maligning a person who kept the education budget from being cut on multiple occasions does not deserve the title "Abortion Barbie".

Any takers other than the goober twins?

EDIT:

This is exactly how I feel about it. No one is overjoyed by the thought of abortion, no matter what their political alignment or gender is. No one!

So, instead of presenting any sort of argument at all, you instead attempt to discredit me by questioning my reasoning and my mistake in assuming that since you support a person fully, you support his ideas (go figure). Which is a reasonable mistake to make for any sane person to do.

Also, another's attempt to put words in my mouth (strawman tactics, as usual) and then argue against my perceived words (which ironically enough is the reason this thread was started in the first place) is also not helpful.

And you wonder what my train of thought is? Maybe you should ask yourself what your train of thought is...
