Gonna have to phone them up for a reason, that's the only way your going to find out.Be interesting to see what they say.

The JP ban you, when you call, you get the NA tech service... They can't talk JP to find out so you're basically screwed. This is how every conversation I've ever had with them has gone.

That can't be why you're banned surely? Can think of hundreds of people that used that blinker to NPC method that didn't get banned =x

Either way, I hope you're able to resolve your ban with the asshats at Square Enix D=

Reason for edit: My touch screen on phone sucks :/

FYI you can be banned for selling stuff to an npc. Under that rule tho there are many reason
1. If you are simply gaining to much money to soon
2. If you are gaining the money and handing it off to others frequently for whatever reason
3.(This is the one most people fail to realize) If you gain the money and then unknowingly exchange it with a RMT via AH purchase,Pop Items,Dynamis Currency(this is big because many rmt use Currency as an exhange to not get caught), and I dont know if it still goes on but also Leech Parties. Most ppl who u see do Leech Parties everyday not just one or two but everyday are 90% of time RMT. They might be real players and participate in the community but they still RMT.

How do i know this? I used to do this very thing back when i used to play, ive tested all theories using mules and I pretty much know how and how not to get banned especially under the "RMT activity" offense they gave you. To protect the integrity of this thread im not gonna give ways to not get banned but i wanted to simply provide a little insight as to what you might have been banned for under the reasons they gave you. I know the community think RMT are scum blah blah etc etc so you can take it for what you want honestly. I dont play anymore so dont really care bout my rep although i personally think people that put there life in this game and get nothing out of it but pixel are kinda dumb. Some people make upwards of 1000$ a week rmt on ffxi alone which is simply a video game and most of it can be automated lol. gotta be crazy to have the ability to do that and not >.> but I digress.

TLDR- If you honestly did not commit any RMT actions yourseld(you only know the truth) you prolly reached the threshold for money made in a set amount of time or transactiions made and then consequently transferred that money to a RMT character unknowingly. and thus was flagged for rmt yourself especially if that character soon transferred servers after which

There should be a warning system. I hate RMTs and I hate the brosale tells, but come on, there should be a better system then poof banned because you committed an offense x time ago.

This is tantamount to making a hardcore meth user go cold turkey while dangling a pipe in front of them.

The buying from the AH and NPCing trick will NOT get you banned.

Case in point: Lacusuu of Lakshmi.

Dude has been vacuuming the AH clean of the leavings of fools since years before we all transferred in from Garuda.

He changed his name with the server merge but his buying patterns remained the same. All us Garudans who were trying to get crafting materials know who he was in less than a week.

Aside: why DO people waste AH slots by putting stuff up at less than AH price?

To sell quicker.

People also put items up on AH for more than the going rate, just in case somebody is desperate enough to buy it at a higher rate. Enough people buy at the higher rate and the higher rate becomes the new going rate.

Called supply and demand economics. You should try it sometimes, its a great drug.

I think Chanti meant less than NPC price. Generally, the answer to that is because they didn't bother checking NPC price.

There is a warning system. A few years ago I got suspended for 3 days for suspected rmt activity when I used to troll the auction house looking for stuff I could npc for profit on my mule and dbox profits to my main. I had to call SE and they told me ecactly why I was suspended and that if any more suspicious activity occured I would be banned. Things may have changed since then but I know they used to give you at least that warning and suspension.

So about the only thing i can think of that they may deem RMT is
that about a month ago i sold all my Heavy metal plates, about 88 of them, for 90k each.

I then go on to buy airlixers for 3.6m each for my mani set.
I spent about 17m in 15 min on those. If spending too much gil is a red flag, ppl beware.

Just to clarify this, while they definitely do not auto/instaban you for long distance pos hacks, they can still detect them and act accordingly.

So you keyed for them? I'm no expert on their exact policies, but I do recall SE saying knowingly participating in an RMT party could result in action taken against your account.

I'd honestly consider it really unlikely, but if you can't think of absolutely anything else you did, perhaps that could be it?

They can talk to the JP to find out, it all rests on which person answers the phone and how willing they are to put the effort it.It's still worth a try.

Sorry man you're SoL. SE doesn't repeal permabans. All I can suggest is picking up a new copy and getting to Abyssea~ Seriously though you should be able to get burned up in less than a week of play. Thankfully alot of the old gear is now irrelevant so pick up some bayld crap and jump into delve :/

Justify it any way you want, you got flagged. It sucks, and it could be their bad, but it is what it is.

I'd say it's probably easier to get a character back up to semi-respectable status then it ever has been. That said, I can see him refusing to play on principle if he was legitimately unjustly banned.

Selling 88 Metal Plates for 90k? I saved up about 50, had 11 M Silver Pieces and 150 Alexandrites and bazaared all of those for heavily under cut, then i went and bought a bunch of chocobo blinkers and bought 2 juogi's for friends, who paid me back for them, and i never got banned, maybe someone reported you for suspicion and they seen the large gil increase?

Might just need to call them and let them know thats simply one of the ways you made gil.

Or maybe your friend giving you the Red Pondweed was the flag, did you just trade it or was there conversation about him letting you get it for free to sell?

We understand you're upset, but no justification of what you had for breakfast is going to change the fact that you're banned. You could already be level 10 about now if you weren't trolling the forum.
