I don't know. I just look at how much EXP the item gives it and if it's alot, I upgrade. I still have everyone's original weapon, but they're all mastered.

Oh and not to mention some materials can only be obtained by desynthing certain weapons and accessories, so I think what materials are used to gain exp on a weapon do factor in what bonuses it gets, just making this system all the more difficult and annoying.
In my head I'm still expecting that I'll eventually run into one of those little orbs and pick up the next best weapon/accessory for everyone along the way so I'll be that next tier of "buff" so I'm prepared for whatever is a head.
Boy was I wrong, they are few and far between.

So I had a salvage group before that went twice a week. We just kept doing Bhaflau most of the time, since we all wanted Usukane Feet really bad (and Marduk Legs in my case.)
When my girlfriend broke her ankle, I spent a lot of time taking her in and out of hospital for check ups and stuff. Most of these were on Monday; and I rarely got back in time for the arranged salvage times. So I explained to the group what was going on, etc. Told them all about it so they knew why I was either late or didn't come.
I found out yesterday that they repped me from the group without consulting me; despite the fact it's actually a group I made and ran myself. I'm not sure whether the betrayal from friends (because they're all long time friends) or the fact I've been replaced by a moron hurts more. Going with the former though since I'm passed the point about caring about the second nowadays.
But not only this, but one of them has 'renounced' my Dynamis and Limbus shells because she doesn't want to play with such a "selfish" player. They've also not spoken to me since the last complete salvage run I did with them.
Now did I do something wrong, or am I missing something? I am utterly perplexed. This person claims to be 24 years old and one of the "mature" playerbase.

Some people honestly have no concept of real life obligations. I know I got bitched at for missing HNM camps for real life things a lot of the time in some of the HNMLSs I've been in <_< don't let it bother you Wooooo!

I can't speak from your perspective, because for as long as I've played, I've almost always done stuff with 3 people: Myself, my fiance, and her brother. We all live nearby each other and do a lot in real life together also, so when one of us is going to miss something, that generally means we all three will miss something. Though near the waning days of my playing, we did invite one other person into our group that we knew in FFXI. And we completed everything from Assault/Nyzul to Apollyon/Temenos just in a group of 4.
You should try it, it sounds infinitely more fun than dealing with stupid-*** endgame drama.
Edit: Taking down minicerberus in a group of four as DRK/SAM, SAM/WAR, BRD/WHM, RDM/WHM is good times.

It's the fact that I informed them of everything, told them what was going on; and without speaking to me, they just replaced me. I understand that they want to keep running, and I made as much effort as I could to be there. But obviously sometimes it didn't happen. I sent them texts when I was going to be late, so it's not even like they weren't kept informed.
The times were not of my choosing anyway; they were decided by everyone else. Prior to her breaking her ankle I could have played at any time on the days, which is why I let them choose.
And the selfish part, no I'm not. And that's entirely why it's bothering me, since I considered these people (and the one who's acting up and ignoring me) good friends.

Well sorry man. I guess they aren't. I don't see how they can consider you selfish, unless you raised such a big ***about it and caused drama. In that way you could be perceived as selfish for not caring about their needs. Personally I allow for grieving in times of stress, but many others do not.
Sadly, from my experience, online game friends have to be taken with a grain of salt. I've been backstabbed too many times. I think it has to do with the fact that they don't have to see you. They can just put you on ignore and never have to deal with the guilt of screwing you over.
Everyone we meet has their own personal struggles. Sometimes we clash. We can be allowing and understanding and open to them, or we can say "you aren't worth the time and effort it takes to be your friend" and move on. When building relationships, part of the gamble is a broken heart. Just acknowledge that it may happen and when/if it does just move on. Time is the only thing I've found to truly mend a broken heart.

Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
