lol listen to you, non washingtonians?

Please tell us your extended experience outside of WA State?

Also, as for being anti-social, seattlites take the cake. Seattle is the most anti-social place I've been.

Sorry this sounds like Im coming down on you. I'm not angry or trying to put you down. I just disagree with you very very much on this point.

Funny, I thought the south had a reputation for being friendly...
I thought they just had a reputation for being rude, religious bigots.. Or is that Texans?

It's called southern hospitality for a reason. Unfortunately if your skin or your religion isn't the same as theirs that may change.

But really this is a human thing, not a southern or texan thing. People in texas drug a black man behind their pick up truck till he was dead not to long ago. But people from Texas can also be very hospitable and kind.

So let's blame it on us humans! Racism and Bigoitry exist all over.
Good point, Chas.. I was just stating, from my experience, those who are from Washington, especially the Seattle area, are super-friendly. ..Most people in other states would rather no one ever spoke to them, or was nice to 'em it seems.

Just cause it isn't as bad as it used to be doesn't make it good. For example just say 20 years ago my dad had a job in Georgia I beleive. He was working with a bunch of random guys 1 was a local black guy in a heavily black area. Needless to say he warned everyone that if they wanted to go out at night after work they should probably take him along if they wanted to make it back to the hotel all right.

We just have different experiences. I grew up in the Seattle area, so to me, it's one of the bestest places evar. ..Despite the cold and rain.

Well me I was born in Tacoma moved to Santa rosa, Ca when I was 9. Spent a couple of months in great lakes, Il, then a couple of years near charleston, then like 8 months in Guam and a few weeks in hawaii then back to washinton. Have visited mountana for like a month and a ghetto part of balitmore area for a week and SoCal alot. OH and I guess could count the long vacation in Fl when I was 3.

Anyways pretty much any big city is anti-social. It's the whole there being hundreds of thousands to millions of people most of whom you will never see or talk to again in your life. Perfectly normal

I just want to point out, you see a lot more reverse racism than you think. 9/10 the African population is way more racist than the white population. But no one says anything because it seems to be accepted that it is a guilt whites have to carry. I personally don't get the point of racism, but you can't expect everyone to grow up and mature.
Also every where has people who are nice and those who aren't. The only thing I can say is that statistically people in the south tend to act nicer towards strangers than they do in other parts of the country. At least from what I've seen.

Oh I agree completely. Luckily generation X and beyond are more tolerable.

I grew up on Ft. Benning, GA. You'd never experience racism. However, leaving the base was an entirely different story....
Was weird. My mom was American Indian, very pretty and shapely, and was treated the worst out of anyone.

it just seems to be the lower class un-educated who feels as though we owe them
and that reason right there is why in the eyes of others the african race seems to progress so slow

Krizz says (1:26 PM):
same thing for white racism against blacks. most of them are backwoods and/or uneducated

I agreed with his statements. I added more to the convo when I felt something else needed to be said.

Edit: I also toss in 'lol' and 'lmao' from time to time.
