I'm not big on "feminists", especially the militant kind. But these books really don't describe a healthy BDSM relationship or love story at all; they are -- almost literally -- textbook examples of abuse. The books could be used -as- textbooks for abuse. As I said in the other thread. Your kinks are your kinks. Whatever gets your rocks off. But Grey's behaviors in this book include, but are not limited to, stalking, posessiveness, physical and psychological abuse for perceived slights, threatening, and emotional manipulation. Like I said. When they were just shitty mommy porn, I didn't care. But they're really just...awful.

I did hear that the acting was good though just not supported well by the writing and such. I'll never know. Going to see kingsmen this weekend. That movie thats been previewed in theaters for what feels like the last 5 years.

My mom was the one who banned certain material, but my dad would wait until my mom wasn't around. Then, it was no holds bar. My mom hated 'The Simpsons' too. That's the one that my dad openly protested my mom's stance on 'The Simpsons' and we would watch all together on Sunday. Those were the best episodes anyway and the time when 'The Simpsons' actually had heart. Bart's Soul...Still my favorite episode and it's meaning has evolved as I've grown older. I LOVE that episode!

Character name: Betelgeuse Someone must have thought marketing wouldn't do well if they made a comedy called "Betelgeuse", and opted for a more marketable name. Edit: Fixed spelling.
