I felt like I could for 2~ hours until the intense pain of an internal hematoma made itself known. Then all idea of mountain climbing fled and I was concentrating on not yelling like a banshee. However, it is a good idea to work muscles as soon as you can after labor. That is the advice given here and from my experience. I attended medical school when I was 5 or 6 years old because I insisted on spending the day with my father. Heaven help the parent who tries to deny a boy's request.
It likely helped that I was (and remain) a quiet kid.
