I'm going to gave to check out this Duolingo! I was wondering how the progression was on the advanced editions of Rosetta Stone were for each, individual language, but if it's all on a elementary level, that is a waste.
Fun part is that a good number of Danish and German words are similar (not suprisingly); at the moment lighting -> belysning -> beluchtung
Dutch seems harder to make heads or tales of. When I spent a weekend in the Netherlands/Luxumborg, I ran under the ignorant assumption that is was close enough to German. The addition of French though!

Dutch is just weird. My friend is fluent in 5 languages (grew up in Luxembourg: French, German, Danish, English, Luxembourgish) and she won't touch it for anything.

I've used both RS and Duo, I like duo better, at least at a low level.
It shows you what you're saying wrong, and you can go on the discussion board if you're having problems and people can help you say things right, or clear up confusion.

you get too many headaches, z. we might want to look into some medicinal marijuana, or a doctors note for afternoon toddies, or maybe acupuncture. let's get you patched up. if it's stress, just say *** it z, *** it. Yeah...Hrrrmmm...The sweetpea has extended a few fingerwags for not getting a check up yet. I'm just going to mention it to my OBGYN next time I go in for that check up, and see what she recommends. If I need to go to a GP then I will. Medical marijuana would be wonderful. OH! OH! Ooooohhhhhhh! That's why you suggested CO yesterday! Delayed, but...You, sir! You are on to something! I'd go sooner than later if I were you... If you're getting them frequently (more than four times a week) I'd also keep a journal (duration, level of pain, location) on it too. And so, like always and quite accidentally the soft naked flesh of the Yin gave way and a terrible cold steel Yang was born to fill the void. A singular destructive force.
here we call him Nikolce, or "that jerk from NI" and in the darkness of his own diseased mind he calls himself The Extinguisher.
So the townspeople felt the great crashing into the earth of what they suspected was a meteorite, but which turned out to be a baby. They started to coo.... But then the filthy little monster shot up and started screaming ...

and they went all to pieces...and they probably did what any collective of horrified townspeople would do. they tried to kill it... first with sporadic busts of small arms fire they had on hand. Then when those measures failed they called in for back up and the terrible might of the local auxiliary air national guard unit made a few passes with gas bombs, 50 caliber machine guns and jellied fire... and then there was the heavy artillery and the bombing runs...
this went on for quite a while... you can go take a bathroom break or something. they still have to call in the national guard... and then the army... at one point they even deputized a gang of drunken hillbillies to try to blow him up with crude sticks of dynamite
But eventually they expended all their ammunition and resorted to sticks and bats and even belts and wooden spoons.. pitchforks...one person threw a cat...
they took turns, and started working in shifts, they tried priests and holy water, they passed several laws against his existence, a small group of teachers tried educating it. nothing worked...

so eventually they grew tired and gave up. The smoke started to clear, the sirens faded, and then they finally noticed that through this cacophony the monstrous machine had been growing slowly, over this whole time, gaining power until finally he let out a powerful scream and destroyed the whole town... those that could, fled for their lives taking with them whatever they could carry.
building crumbled, houses burned, fires belched smoke, explosions, more fire, people screaming... you get the picture...
You won't even find this doomed place on any but the oldest of maps.
No one even dares speak of it. This once quaint, quiet, small town is now nothing but a scorched pile of black rocks where nothing of beauty can ever be made to grow again...

by the time I go through all the trouble to make an appointment and then wait for the appointment day to arrive and then sit there in the waiting room listening to bad muzak for several hours trying not to touch anything so I don't pick up an even worse disease...
and then I have to burn most of my patient/doctor one on one time admonishing his shoddy appointment keeping and complete lack of professionalism. Then I fire a couple nurses on my way out the door with a handful of prescriptions I will never fill..... which somehow always makes me feel better.

Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
