so get this right... after being transferred to the fourth person now right... they start off by telling me I have to go back to someone else to that I promptly reply *** you that isn't happening lol... they start to talk some more and say that I will have to talk to a manager and that he is in a meeting... "when will he be back?" "I don't know sir" ""well that's helpful" So I make sure that I'm going to get a call back.. they don't call me back soon enough so I call again... well sir we're going to have to send a technician out tomorrow but we can only do it during the hours that you are at work... well honey that doesn't work for me... so I go on to ask how they can turn my net off with the flip of a switch and now they need someone to come into my home to turn it back on? She replies with the "I don't really understand how it works sir" Well can you get me someone who does? She then puts me on hold and goes... well it actually looks like we turned it on already? I'm like yea? When? Well I don't actually know it could have been yesterday or the day before... thanks very helpful again... but I'm not going to play this game where you tell me its on and its not really on and you cancelled that trip out here and then I gotta wait til monday because you left at 5 and no one comes out on the weeekends blah blah blah... Made her keep the appointment and I told her I'd let her know if it would be canceled... why does this have to be so difficult and why does no one I get to talk to know anything or able to do anything that could be helpful at all?
boring explanation... back in the seventies the unions all went on strike for silly things like being paid for thirty years after they quit working. Not that they ever worked in the first place, mind you. With two months of vacation, two weeks of paid sick leave and two weeks of holiday days they worked almost nine months out of the year.
But then they figured out quadruplle overtime and figured out that if they didn't work during regular business hours they could get paid to not work during overtime hours on a holiday during their vacation.
So now they were getting paid four times their normal exorbitant wage to not work during holidays because no one expected them to work on holidays anyways I mean c'mon it's a holidays!!!
So you pay these guys four hundred dollars or so an hour to sit around and complain about upper management. Which is fine except they still weren't actually doing any work and the companies were all going bankrupt.
So, the companies built entirely new companies and factories overseas in china, hired local workers who would do all the work the union workers refused to do at four hundred dollars an hour for about fifty cents a day.
Which was great except nobody new how to speak the regional dialects of the workers that actually built the products for companies to sell to other companies that were now no longer actually making anything. And they were never taught english because china was going to take over the world and make everyone speak chinese anyways.
So then, they went into entirely different third world countries where they spoke a little english and hired them to provide technical support for the products they no longer made.
And it gets even better.... Then they also outsourced their sales to whoever would sell their products. Those salesmen sold them to the cable company and now you have your cable modem...
So you call your cable company to provide technical support on a product they didn't make, but they also didn't buy it from someone who understood it, it was just some guy working out of his basement who doesn't even know what it does. He got it from a company that didn't make it either, they bought it from another company in china that doesn't speak english and then hired another company in india to do the technical support.
However, since the cable company didn't buy the product from the company that didn't make it they don't have access to the indian company that was hired to do the support.
So the cable company hires a sixth company to provide technical support to you on a product no one has ever seen.
You call the cable company, your call gets routed to tech support, they call the cable company, the cable company calls the salesman, the salesman calls the factory, the factory calls the other factory in china who calls the technical support company in india who also has never actually seen the modem you have the problem with.
So the indian company tasked with providing technical support calls the factory to tell the other factory to tell the salesman to tell the cable company to tell the other technical service provider...WHO coincidentally is sitting in the crate right next to the first guy to tell you to ask...

lol... I kinda almost wished thats what happened... Everyone I spoke to was American... I could understand what they said and the call wasn't breaking up so hard I had to have the guy yell at me to see what's up... one of the offices is nearish where I work so I was gonna go stand out side their window and stare at them while I made the call but it didn't come to that... turns out they did turn it back on and noone felt the need to call and let me know as you need to unplug the ethernet cord from the wall and plug it back in after they flip it back on...

I'm not expecting them to tell me how the system works... I'm expcting them to be able to look into my account, after I give them all my information and they tell me they're going to look into my account, and be able to tell me the status of my account... I mean I find it hard to believe that it's that hard to tell if the status is off or on... I mean she told me I needed to have someone come out to my place and physically turn it back on... it wasn't until after I questioned that that she came back and told me oh hey look at this it is already on and you don't need anyone to come out... Her job wasn't technical support it was account management... Is it really that far fetched to think she should be able to do that? It's not like I was screaming at this lady...

I'm with Stik on this one. Being rude to someone who's inept at their job isn't going to make them suddenly competent. It only leads to a stressful situation for both parties and I honestly would rather spend that energy doing something else.

If they take me asking questions to move the process along as being rude, then that's on their shoulders. However, my point is that I will do so with decorum and not intentionally snap at these individuals. How they interpret things is entirely up to them.

I sometimes get a rude tone, but i always tell them right off the bat that i understand they didn't cause my problem. However, their job is to be a representative of the company they work for and they are the only people i can express my dissatisfaction to. I think how they handle it from there decides how good they are at their job, and if they are good then they will find a way to fix the problem or placate me. If they fail at that, i may become agitated and less pleasant to speak with. I think it's warranted at that point though.

Celene(F) and Rowland(M) are more of the shyer members, but often say things that are witty, have a good pun and sometimes cause three page discussions. Celene hates when people hit on her. It doesn't stop them from trying.
Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
