better now that I got my usb3 working again, for awhile if I plugged certain devices into it, it would cause an instant bsod, and make a horrible noise.
I checked the driver version, and the selected model hasn't had the driver updated in 2.5 years (before I got the damned laptop).
I updated it to a newer version of the driver from another model's page, and bam.
Am able to charge my phone off the usb3 port and no issues.

they're hit and miss, it's unfortunate to get a real good one you have to buy the business class models, and they're outrageously priced.

My particular HP (an Envy 17-1101NR) has been overheating since the day I got it...
edit2: I've even replaced the thermal paste on it, and clean it out often, no benefit...

I use them at work constantly, and I don't have a bit of problem with my work laptop, short of it's old and "fullscreen"

that doesn't include the case and the mouse, and the other things I've bought for it over time.
(replaced the mouse twice, and the case once (zipper broke).
I also have a cooler for it, but I really need to find the power cord for that thing...
edit: I'll be lucky if it lasts a whole 5 years, I'll probably go back to desktop as my main after this next semester anyway. I plan to drop to 1 class at a time if I can manage to get this job that a spot opened up for.

Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
