I think it's just a norm for colleges. Same ***happened the year before, and the year before that... Wait, you guys don't have student evaluations, Flav?
edit: The strike lasts like 3-4 days. Always happens around the same time each year. Teachers want more pay, administration says "lolNO!" teagers go "okay .-." and classes start. They did try pushing it 2 years ago but in the end, nothing really changed, I don't think. Teachers should be paid more and school should be less like a daycare, since it's not a daycare. Let them focus on educating kids. More parents need to ACTUALLY be parents and stop blaming all of little Johnny/Jeanie's problems on everyone else. We have a highschool kid who works here and goes where I went. Every time he talks about how the school is run now, I cringe :/

Shouldn't they be fighting for the evaluations? I mean wouldn't saying your against it basically say "I want to be lazy at my job!"?
Living in a state/area that does evaluations on teachers/professors, it won't get them fired but I think they get to read the suggestions after the grades are turned in and it seems like sometimes, they get better with it. Flav, come to a Michigan university like Michigan State or UofMichigan, hell even Wayne State Univeristy is a good one (none of those I go to but they're good schools) You will probably get better teachers for the money you pay. Yeah! It sounded similar to what happened here a few years ago, but they were closing under-performing schools too. Why were they at Child Protective Services? There is also enough blame to go around... the administration and teachers need to change as well... you can't just say oh these parents are ***so we can't do anything... let's give up... What about the kids that are failed that have supportive parents? or are the ones that fail only come from ***families? like I said there is enough blame to go around but you can't only focus on one side and act like there aren't teachers out there that underperform or or only in this for a career... not every teacher is out to inspire or loves children... I'm sure we've all had many that seem to hate us when we were students lol... but there are also those that do work very hard and love the kids they work with...
