That's like saying people get in car wrecks because they don't know calc....when the real reason is operator error.

well to be fair, for awhile now: most who now know calc, will know how to safely use a computer, nerds and all.

was meaningless joke, lighten up :P

I know, mine too.
If I'm ever at fault in a car wreck though, I'm totally blaming it on my lack of understanding calc. I want to see peoples reaction to that.

Nothing wrong with applying yourself in every class, even ones you don't like.

Thank you.
Not to mention that employers don't only look at the degree anymore, they also look at your GPA. If there are 2 people up for a job and 1 has a 2.0 and the other a 4.0, and all other qualifications are the same, the 4.0 is going to win.

No, she's actually in favor of no internet. Something about paying attention, I dunno, I wasn't listening.
LMAO!

I'm guessing the no internet thing is to keep both of you motivated to get everything unpacked and settled in. If you have internet, it would probably take longer because you would be doing the whole, unpack 1 box, get caught up on internet, unpack 1 box, etc. =D

never seen an employer look for gpa, nor have I ever known any HR person to ask about it either. It's really only useful academic wise and for higher learning, and possibly better grants, but real world practicality it's kind of useless. What employers ask people for their gpa?

also 2.0 is disgusting.

My employer has it built into the resume process online. If you click that you are currently in school or have a degree, one of the things to fill in is GPA.

I also went to a career workshop not long after graduating (I just got my degree a little over a year ago) and they said that GPA is becoming more and more important because there are so many people out there hunting for jobs.

I would say if you are looking to get into any technical type career, then you are expected to have done well in school. If you can't apply yourself in school, then what's to say you can apply yourself at work.
