Seems like last semester was a good semester all around for FFXIAHers.

unfortunately that's not the case for me, I mean it wasn't horribly bad, but I should have been able to get all A's, and I got a D, C, B, B...

the B's were bad enough, the C is unacceptable, the D for being the class it was, I don't care.

Yeah I wouldn't consider any of that acceptable regardless of what class it was for myself.

Another 4.0 semester for me.
lol.
Nothing wrong with applying yourself in every class, even ones you don't like.

How can you disagree with an ambiguous statement like that?

If there's something wrong with applying yourself to everything you do, please point it out.

While I find Algebra to be useful to me personally a lot more than higher math, trig is still very useful, not sure the point of learning proofs unless you're going to be a math professor though.

Depends on your career choice.
You, yes very useful.
If I pursued history like I originally intended then I doubt I'd need beyond basic arithmetic.

just because you're doing something doesn't mean you have to apply yourself to it, I personally found a class I took to be degrading, so to apply myself would have been degrading further, hence would have been "wrong" to do so. Just my opinion.

not sure what all of the symbols are for, basically the Z, K, and e and E(don't feel like finding the symbol) guessing they are variables short of the last one.

yeah I find memorization to be pointless in education, while some retention is needed, to the level it's emphasized, especially when it comes to math is silly, there's no reason to remember formulas, the ability to use the formula is much more important...

Albeit historiography is useful, you usually bring in a geologist for that part. Calc has an extremely limited use in the field, which is why as a history major you don't study it.

I never said it wasn't useful I just think use is determined by your field.

I'm happy with the Liberal arts, and sure, monetarily it doesn't make as much as an astrophysicist, but I'm going to enjoy what I do. As far as those other subjects are concerned, if you excel at that sort of thing, then kudos. As for me, my brain doesn't work like that. I'm happy with the fact that the only numbers I have to see again are either my gradebook or financial stuff at home. I have no need to ever consider the Pythagorean theorem again, nor do I have to figure out the difference between a covalent and an ionic bond. And this keeps me happy. I would much rather dive headfirst into some Shakespeare and contemplate life on a metaphysical level, and my life will be filled with such. It may not work for many people who are constantly chasing that buck, but for me... it'll be more than enough.

Never taken a single philosophy class in my life, and alas and alack, it's too late to do so now. I'm finally going to be in my professional program next semester. Well, there's always the Master degree. But yeah, if that's philosophy, I think I'd be interested.

Calc: you live in a house? use a computer? drive? yeah, you need calc whether you want to admit it or not :P (granted your understanding of it probably isn't needed...)

It's sad how many people I know can't do basic math, I want to know how the hell they ever graduated from elementary school much less high school).

Yes, if you care to understand those things calc is needed. If you're fine with turning a computer on and not needing to know, no need :D

I should start looking into the college hierarchy. The only hippy I see is the one who always asks me if I could "spare any change".
