HW: Find the derivative of 2x^2 + 3

Test: What is my mother's maiden name if the derivative of 3x^ln(3) + lg(3x/8y) is the friction applied to a car traveling 8y^i + x^ln(x) * sin(4xy) miles per hours during rush hour in Tokyo while a helicopter traveling tan(42x/y) kilometers per hour is overhead telling the driver to pull over at a rate of 89 * cos(ln(4x^i)) words per minute?

I like this game, let's do more.

I found the derivative of the first one in about 2sec... Looked at the 2nd lolnope!

The only thing I hated about calc and math classes in general is that what was generally on the test was far more advanced than what you did in class or on the HW. Always had to go beyond that it seemed.
HW: Johnny has 2 apples. He eats one. How many apples does he have? Test: Johnny has 2 apples. He eats one. Calculate the effect this has on gravity of the earth on the sun if he burns calories at a rate of 20calories/minute idling, 100calories/minute running against the wind, and the apple would have fallen at a force of 30 N/s.
There were too many numbers in that problem for calc...

Seems like too little to me. I had at least one problem on my test that had about double that amount. >.>

On my cal final I had something like find dz/du of e^sin(2y) where y = ln(cos(t^u)).

Why do people tell you that they're not going to say something but in doing so say something?

Also, if a guy breaks into an area that a company has labled dangerous and that you can get electrocuted beyond a certain point... put signs up... put a fence with barbed wire up.. and yet they sneak in and try and steal... then when they get electrocuted and die their family sues for millions... Do you think the person's family deserves the money?

They don't deserve a penny. Natural selection at work IMO.

Edit: Honestly if someone gets hurt/dies trying to STEAL they shouldn't get anything regardless of the circumstances. But that's just my opinion.

No, which means they will probably win the law suit. Kind of like the people who break into someone's home, but get hurt and sue the homeowners.

10/10 they win the law suit here. Millions of dollars too. Doesn't seem to matter to a jury that they were breaking in, ignoring warnings and thieving... 10/10 they win...

No, I assume all homeless people want to die.
That's a terribly misguided assumption lol...

Have you ever heard of the homeless guy slaughterer?!

He'd live his normal life, but then go to really small towns and kill a bunch of homeless guys. No one knew who it was because there was really no motivation other than just to kill someone. And it's not like these people were looked for by anyone.
That's horrible :/ Just because they're homeless doesn't mean they should be slaughtered.

I used to work graveyard at Denny's when I was younger and some of my favorite customers were the homeless guys who would come in to keep warm at night. They would only ever get coffee, but they would tell some stories. One guy even drew a portrait of my husband's 66 Ford Fairlane as a gift for me :)

I don't understand how that leads to the assumption that all homeless people want to die though..

I have never heard of the homeless guy slaughterer but if television is any indication prostitutes, homless and other societal undesirables are often higher risk targets as they usually don't have anyone looking for them or won't be missed... Just because they're targeted more doesn't mean they want to die...

none as the mass of the earth would have remained a constant regardless if he ate the apple or not. (in regards to the apple).

edit: beaten, but in my defense I didn't see it and I was doing a trial...

I wouldn't even find out about it until I go to do whatever it is the old way and find out "That's not right."

No, it is the sales people in the markets. They have suddenly decided to start using these "house" identifiers for certain accounts. The problem is, these identifiers are not recognized by our commissions tool, do the sales leaders are not getting paid on these accounts anymore. They are also not getting credit for these accounts against their budget, which makes them look like they are performing lower than they are.

Yeah, in this case, their way is not right. Nobody else actually processes commissions or is allowed to make process changes unless they go thru the change management board. They are only screwing themselves (well me, cause I always catch it and of course am honest and bring it to their attention, which means manual work for me).
