you should do it row, it's fun.

I really want to build a new one, but I don't have the $ anymore after these court fines, and I shouldn't spend it anyway as I already have a laptop that can do anything current.

Thermal paste is the seed of satan. But everything else is just simple screwing in, plugging in or clipping in.

Yeah I've been wanting to do a new build but money is the big issue, got a new PSU and GPU, now just need the mobo, new ram (unless mine will work in a new one? I'm not that savvy with all that really lol) and CPU.

very expensive lego (actually ok not really, there's this lego set I want that's like 500 bucks :| )

I was going to get some new thermal paste but i'm 99% sure mine is still good from '08 lol.

Done and done lol, first time I put the computer together I gashed my hand to hell and had a few blood spots on the case (still there actually :3) then when I got the new GPU a few weeks ago I sliced up my left middle finger pretty good... then when I was putting the PSU in ... poked my finger with some sharp piece, and cut two of my fingers on something (not as bad at least, still kinda hurt)

If I had all the parts I can put a computer back together. But the problem is actually buying those parts in order to upgrade things.

I do have thermal paste when I was fixing 360s.
Once you learn it's easy.
For modern PC's it's pretty simple tbh.
Almost everything peripheral and HDD is set up via SATA.
Main thing you need to do is be aware of matching the CPU socket with the MOBO socket. And probably being aware of PCI setup/restrictions. Other than that it's really simple.

I love going through all of newegg and trying to put together new builds lol, I've got like 20 on my wishlist of varying specs.

Working on one for my friend, just gotta wait for him to get the funds.

I finally upgraded my DVD drive, it was still using a old *** ribbon cable lol, having one that uses a SATA cable is quite nice.

loldvd, blu ray writer ftw.

as for thermal paste it breaks down after a couple years, probably time to replace it.

As for 360's can you reball row?

Meh no real need for me.
If I put something on a disc to store I just lose it.
that's why I have my 80GB SSD and anything I store goes on the 1TB.
Anything I need to transport just goes in my usb drive.

We've been thinking about putting a pool in (just a small one like them little uh ... I dunno what they are called) or a jacuzzi but we haven't really made up our mind, we have a pretty good sized back yard so it would be nice to have something else back there other then nothing lol.

Pretty much this lol.

I know for a fact that I am inheriting this house when my grandparents either die or move to some old folks place (or just ... stay here lol) and once I do finish up my schooling and whatnot and get a job and money i'll probably try to save up for a pool or jacuzzi or something lol.

just so I can say I got one :p

Yeah, notice I said my parents. Their whole house and land is shwanky. The pool is just more to their collection. Me I'm happy with owning my condo at my age.

Majority of the time I just take it apart, clean it up, sometimes put new pads on those one chips that cause overheating, then put it back together. I just watched youtube videos and stuff.

the ram? more than that cause overheating...

I think it's just resoldering the 'balls' on the CPU or motherboard? not really sure lol.
it's replacing the solder balls on the chips, the ram, cpu, gpu, the solder that it was made with is unleaded, very brittle ***, one replaces it with leaded solder.

I can get the stencil but I'm not sure how to do it, nor have the proper equipment to do it.

got 1 360 and a ps3 that could use it.

My only other option is to reflow the one 360 again and then add some heat sinks, get a custom cpu heatsink, and add cooling fans, and then maybe it can stay cool enough...
