I like the 'stick it in the trunk with the trunk door held down with some bungee cords' method.

yeah a couch is too big for that though.

depending on the accord the back seat even folds down, but still it's not large enough to take it.

The back of the PT Cruiser is actually pretty big. I had a friend pick up and deliver a 300 gallon fish tank (stand and canopy) for me and it fit in the back with closing the hatch.

The couch doesn't look all the large, so chances are you could fit it in enough to close the hatch at least 1/2 way and tie it down.

I have a HHR which is similar to a PT Cruiser, and I agree, they are surprisingly spacious in the back. Can fit quite a bit with the seats folded down.

I meant the Accord, I am still an awe that people actually bought and admit to owning the other vehicle.

I have an HHR as well (didn't at the time of the fish tank). We always use my car to go when it comes to camping, shopping, whatever because of the back being so spacious!

I had a problem not that long ago with mine and it was covered under warranty, but for the life of me I can't remember what the problem was. Other than that, nada. I <3 my HHR!

VW Jettas are reasonably priced. It can be expensive if you have to replace a part or something, but if you keep up with regular maintenance you really don't have much to worry about. I've had mine since 2008, and just had to deal with repairs last summer after a little over 75-80K miles.

Depends on the year it seems. Mine is an '08 which is supposedly a good year for it.

I'm the same way. I probably would just go with a simplistic car, and just spend money on toys. I see no point in having an ostentatious, ridiculously expensive car.

EDIT: Cars lose a lot of value quickly anyway, unless it's a classic.

Same here. I would buy a toy box motor home and all the toys to go in it. 4 wheelers, wave runners, woo hoo!
