Magic Damage Nuke Staves And Helix

Simple question, probably complicated answers, and with the new gear might be moot given the tendency for new pieces to have both INT and MAB but...

... does the magic damage+HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE on the new nuke staves change the way we should gear helix?

Specifically favouring INT over MAB, as "traditionally" INT provided greater gains due to helix's extremely low base damage of 25.

I've yet to have a chance to experiment but I was curious what folks thought, perhaps some with the math at their fingertips.
