Hi guys :)

I'm leveling bard (lev 61 atm). My problem is about ballad X2 after a minuet and a madrigal.

My gear :
- Chanter's Staff
- Bugard Leather Strap
- Noble's Ribbon
- Bird Whistle
- Singing Earring
- Antivenom Earring
- Justaucorps +1
- Choral Cuffs
- Nereid Ring X2
- Jester's Cape +1
- Gleeman's Belt
- Choral Cannions
- Cobra Unit Pigaches

- Traversiere +1 for madrigal
- Cornette +2 for minuet
- ballad is casted with the instrument of my last song so cornette +2

I cast songs in this order :
#1 : Blade Madrigal
#2 : Valor Minuet III
#3 : Mage's Ballad II
#4 : Mage's Ballad

(same thing if i swich #2 by #1 or #4 by #3)

My problem : after cast melee songs, i can only have 1 ballad. In my exemple, i cast blade madrigal, valor minuet III, i got both effects. I cast ballad II which erase madrigal, i start ballad and instead erase minet, it erase my first ballad -_____-

If the mage for who i cast ballad didnt have the melee song, he will have ballad + ballad II.
If he was in range of melee song like me, he will onl have the last ballad i cast (because the first is erase by the second ballad) and keep 1 melee song...

Why ? is there something i did wrong ? an hidden effect on my gear ?

Second thing : Sometime, with same gear, same order, i got the second ballad... why 90% of time it cant erase the second melee song, and sometime it can erase it ?

Can someone help me ? (;_;)

Songs are overwritten by duration, so since your melee songs are lasting longer, just wait a bit longer to start your ballads.

Specifics will surely come by another post <_<

That's pretty much the specifics of it XD

Each +1 on an instrument adds 12(I think, 99.9% sure) seconds to the duration of your songs. So you're forced to pretty much just stagger them, or wait a few seconds between finishing your last song, and singing your first ballad.

He nailed it perfectly. The last song cast overwrites the song with the least duration at the time of casting.

As long as the mage isnt hit with melee songs, then it wont matter unless you as the brd/whm (although youll probably be /nin at these levels pulling) want the full 3mp refresh.
