I made this post on Facebook, but I wanted to copy/paste it to make sure you all saw it too. I truly truly thank you for all you have done for me. Words just don't do justice all the support you've shown me and I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.

Hi all :) Well the semifinalists are posted on the Local Heroes contest, and I regret to tell everyone we didn't make it this time. Regardless I want to say my thank yous to all I owe one to.
I want to thank God for allowing word to come my way about this contest and giving me the chance to enter it. While I didn't win a new van, I won many new friends in the process as well as seeing exactly how far my words can actually spread in this day and age. Knowing this has inspired me to keep speaking out and for that I thank HIM.
I thank the people of the NMEDA (National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association) for helping to promote Mobility Awareness Month through contests such as this. So little is made public about how huge problems something like simple transportation is for the elderly and disabled, and how very little is done. So thank you for not only changing people's lives with this contest, but for educating the public about this to hopefully inspire future change for us all. Keep doing what you're doing!
I thank my husband Don, who forfeited his own entry and sent all of his friends my way in hopes that one of us might win and be able to keep visiting each other. I know that's not an easy thing to do when you need the burden lifted just as badly as I do, so a big thank you there.
I thank my friends/family and friends of my friends/family for helping me spread word about this contest and about Mobility Awareness Month. Both online and in person, without all of your support I wouldn't have gotten close to where I did, and I'm proud of that and you should be too!
I thank my gaming community! So much criticism is publicized about video games in the age, but the amount of support and votes people who've never even met me before have managed to create is outstanding and I owe you all a huge thank you for it!
I thank Mississippi! From our Laurel Mayor Mack sending my emails to the Department of Public Transportation to help raise awareness to our WDAM news crew helping to promote me on Facebook, Retweet me on Twitter and allowing me an interview you've all been great. Just going to town last Saturday I ran into so many people who just wanted to stop and let me know my family was in their thoughts and prayers about this, and I want them all to know how much I appreciate it.
Even though it didn't work out for me this time, I want you all to please continue sharing the link to their site to promote Mobility Awareness Month. Take a few minutes of your day to read some of these entries and truly see what a huge issue this is and help support the NMEDA for what they do so they can continue to keep doing it.
And be looking out for me next February all, because if this contest is re hosted you'll see me there again! ^_^v
Help promote May as Mobility Awareness Month!
