All the haters can eat a *** for real, "ohhh it was better back then...blah blah blah"
Big woop, shut up and go back to my little pony or whatever crap you watch and leave me in peace with cool looking aliens running around with lightsabers.
Lucas has always said Star Wars was aimed towards children...did you ever consider that maybe you are the problem and not the movie series that has consistently aimed to please the younger generation?
Don't like it? Don't watch it and read fan fiction if thats what floats your boat.
If Episode I was aimed for children, Lucas completely missed his mark.
It was boring, convoluted and had major plot holes.
Yes, that totally sounds like something a child would say and not what some nostaligia filled nerd rager would say.
Please do go on ...
No. A child would say "This film is boring" "I don't get it" and "Why is 'x'"
I honestly thought Ep1-2-3 were good (3 -> 2 -> 1 though!), I find it kinda annoying that _most_ people that hate it(first one, mostly) is based around Jar Jar >_> He's kind of annoying, yes, but I thought it was cool, specially when it first came out!
We got to see Obi-Wan as a padawan, we got to see Anakin as a child, and the whole Pod racing blew me away as a kid!

While 100% true and the movie is generally garbage it did have this guy, and thats got to count for something.
One of the only good parts of Episode I was the Qui-gon vs Darth Maul duel.
Everything else was just HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE, to stupid degrees.
I can't remember which DVD it is on but on one of the newer 3 movies there is a interview with Lucas where he explicitly says Star Wars has always been aimed at children and the new trilogy was also aimed at kids.

With Lucas just helping on the creative side, and not having so much to do with the new films, things are already looking positive. I agree the actors are pretty old now, so anything like the Thrawn trilogy(5yrs after Ep. VI) would need a total recast. But there are so many stories within the EU that they could pick anything and it'd be an awesome movie. I'd love anything to do with Revan, or even The Old Republic would make a great trilogy.
I'm sorry but what do you class as a child? Are children out there complaining about the lack of sense in Dora, Seasme street or any shows like that?
Or are you just applying your adult perception to the issue?
I'm guessing you don't have kids if you think they would find ANY of the star wars boring...
Children that watch Dora/Sesame street are probably too young for Star Wars regardless. You could put any movie with loud noises on and they'd get the same out of it.
Any child that can comprehend what's happening will be bored. The movie itself is 136 minutes. There are 3 or 4 action scenes spattered in the entire movie (One of which, is action just for action's sake).
The political parts will go over most children's heads, or if not bore them still. I've seen children (10 and 12) watching Episode I. They did not enjoy it.
Disney owns marvel....and theyve made all the marvel movies after Iron man 1, including the Avengers, so yeah this is by far a good thing, the prequel episodes 1 and 2 were horrible.

not totally true - he wrote 15 films but only directed 6 of them 3 of them being the 3 latest star wars..
THX 1138 still has a massive movie cult following
American Graffiti and Star Wars 4 were both good enough to get him nominated for best screen play and best director for both..
PS: however lets totally forget about that Ewok trilogy ***he wrote and produced

I think people are a little too hard on the Prequel Trilogy, but some of the dialogue is just *** awful.
Don't hate on it before it's out, it might actually be good. If it's ***though (when it's out), go ahead.
Normally I would agree to this, but this time.. I just can't picture many situations were it will not fail the fanbase.
If they continue after episode 6 it would mean to reuse the main chars which will most likely be horrid despite that there are nice books for a few stories like the Thrawn series.
Creating something after the Mainchars death.. not possible due to the drastic changes which took place in the canon books. They would need to explain so many things besides who would be interested in that? <.<
Ignoring all books which revived the franchise would also be a no-go, it would just kill the addressed audience.
Only options would be again in the past, and be about a civil war Sith vs Jedis.. for epicness reasons it can't be less. That would be copypasting the new trilogy again... and who wants that?oo;
The Revan events would be the only popular one they could do.
1st movie Mandalorian war
2nd Star forge
3rd facing the Sith Empire in the unknown regions
leaves enough room for own creations in 1st and 3rd part.

It's just....yeaaah.....
Not just the dialogue but the acting with Natalie Portman and Hayden Christiansen was GOD AWFUL there was NO chemistry at all every scene between them felt cold and forced.

This is actually something I really want to see. The Mandalorian Wars would be cool to see and we'd get to see how Revan and Malak were before they fell to the Dark Side.
Hope Disney will challenge George's creative input and take the franchise in a good direction. Doing well with Marvel so far, so I'm optimistic at least.
Going to put this here to remind us how terrible things were before, and how much things can be improved from this point on.
I kind of find it strange that Jedi would get married, this alone goes against a tenant of the Jedi code. Granted I've not read any of the newer content, but mythos regarding Jedi shows that ove tends to cloud the mind, hence Aniken's turn towards the Dark Side. His marriage to Padme wasn't the cause, but it was the beginning.
I could see the academy starting up again as well as Han being on the Senate or Chancellor even.
Whatever it is, looking back at some of what Disney has produced in relation to more adult styled films, I can see this doing very well, but damn sure not a movie every 2-3 years well, that's just overkill.
A live action show would be nice, I heard LucasFilms was starting this, but fell through.
First off the re-established jedi order was formed from the *** children of jedi luke tracks down to train in the ways of the force.
Meaning many jedi broke the taboo, that and the fact that he had to keep it under wraps kind of escalated things in a way they may not have had it been aceptable.
Either way in the new jedi order it is not prohibited to love.

Eh I meant the Starwars stuff. He directed 1-4 and Empire and Jedi are by far the best. I know Hope got the best pic nom, but really.... it's on the same caliber of 1-3. I mean its better than 1 , dog $h!t is better than 1, and its better than 2 but it falls far short of 5 & 6.
You know after second review of the news, there may be an upside to it. I doubt Disney could do much worse to the franchise than lucas did when he did the prequels.
And you couldn't have a story about Luke without Mark Hamil reprising his role.
The only way they could do this in a way I'd enjoy, is to make the movie take place 30 years after, so the actors look like they've aged the correct amount.
This is what Die Hard 4 did.
If not, then I'd prefer it to be the extended universe or KOTOR.
yeh the books dont start for a decade or 2 after the finale - so they would all be older
Not true, the books go from right after the defeat of the emperor and the retaking of corosant (sp?) there are hundreds (maybe a slight exaggeration) of books based from various time frames after the fact.
I just cant comprehend sellling your life long work for money you obviously dont need which includes one of if not the most popular movie series in history. Disney isnt excatly known for great movies and im not talking about cartoon/animation.
