I'm sure this thread already exists in the dozens but the damned forum search is down.

Anyways my question is: Are there any real simple methods to quickly skill up a weapon that is over 330?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've just recently returned to the game. Left when the cap was 75. Dagger on my THF went up pretty gradually on it's own. But if you're out to just get it capped ASAP, the crabs north of Conflux 4 in Grauberg are a great place. Having /DNC, a healer friend or some good Regen Atmas will make it a breeze.

I capped my Evasion there extremely quickly as well pulling 4-5 Crabs at a time with /dnc. Good luck!

Yeah I'm trying to cap some weapons for well, everything. But mainly right now GS, Scythe, and Parry. I have heard of some easy ways to skill up those 2 weapons. I think is was AoE Ws's on multiple targets. Correct me if I am wrong.

IF Grauberg [a] is a good place to cap (solo) then that's good to know.

The easiest way is to go full turtle mode and pull as many mandies as you can handle. Regen atmas, PTD gear and just swing away.

Mandy and Crab type monsters in Abyssea are ideal, as Morestal mentioned. Especially when you have atmas to use.

If you're looking for a non-Abys option, you can try out Vunkerl Inlet [S] at H-7, there are Duriumshell crabs there, that don't link nor are aggressive and levels 93-94

Join DOM OPs with Bluffalo as target or help ur friends killing NM's.

and btw I'd choice low evasion mobs and I also use this as reference Skill Caps/Warrior

Warrior chart is specially good for this:

for exemple: WAR lvl 85 Grat Axe skill cap at 331,
You'd look for Mobs 85+ when leveling GA at this skill level.

WAR lvl 91 Polearm, Club and Dagger skill cap at 332,
then mobs level 91+.

This is flawed but work very good for me after some experience :)

I go /Mnk, counterstance, and use 3 regen atma and pull 3-4 mobs, see how my hp is, and pull more and more until I am not dying but with max mobs. I use Mandies in either Attohwa or Tahrongi to do this.

Pretty much. Eat some skill up foods. Skill up armor if you have it.
1.Just like the old days you can bring a low level weapon and go to work.
2.If you have a Nin job or mage friend to cap your azure. /DNC and DD atma and just go to work get your TE, Gold boxes etc... Also will level the mobs up.
3. Warrior use Def. gear Regen atma. RDM to cast Phalx II on you. Pull a crap ton of mandies or crabs. Line em up. Retaliation,go AFK rinse repeat.

SE patched the counterstance skill up. No longer works for skilling up weapons.
Before they did War/Mnk was the key. Retaliation and counterstance take any weapon to cap in like 3-4 hours.
Sadly no longer.

worth noting that it is still possible to skill up quickly using retaliation alongside an AOE WS on a large group of mobs. You won't get skill ups for the retaliation hits, but the AOE WS itself is enough to make it significantly quicker than any other option.

considering this topic is 10 hours old, im a;suming you found ur answer, but ... before skill up food and martial mastery were available i used the math weapon skill lvl(base) divided by 3 = mob lvl needed to gain skill ups

Do you still need to hit the mob to get skillups or did they change that as well ?

The pucks in Altepa can /check as Tough at 99. With a SCH or RDM, PDT and regen atmas, you can pull them all.

Damn, when did they patch the Counterstance/Retatliation thing? Was it a ninja patch with no word about it? I remember using Retaliation a couple weeks ago to cap a weapon.
