Sorry i fail @ copy paste. But these are my only findings so far. Hopefully some of those many ??? Smithing level items are 101+ and somebody will be kind enough to post some that they found to skill off of.

Checked with Romero at guild and looked at all available Veteran recipes. Couple potential skillup recipes not involving new mats found in the list of ??? Level ones. These have not been tested by me or to my knowledge anyone, so proceed at your own risk.

The Kagiroi seems interesting because it needs a level 100 synth item to make (Butachi), and a 40k gp KI to make the inferno core. Seems promising, but cost wise it's actually more than the Adaman Gauntlets/Cuirass route due to needing essentially 3 Adaman Ingots to make from scratch. If the level is 104 or higher, this might be a good synth, but 104+ is really asking a lot.

Also, when I said that Romero didn't list these in his Veteran recipe list, there were some interesting inclusions (i.e. the following are level 100 OR LOWER) on that list that should be noted for people looking to skillup on new mats too:
Iga Shuriken
Thokcha Ingot (no surprise here)
Ghorkali Kukri (also no surprise)
Aisa
Etourdissante

it has come to my attention recently while skilling up smithing ( currently 97 :-/ ) my friends wanted me to try to T1 a shadow breastplate but i heard you can skill up past 100 with it so i was curious about that synth. here is what wiki says about it:

im currently interested in smithing and also new subs 70 does it break a new Tier on hq taking GS LC and CC to 70 on items like hauberk -1 and breastplate -1 or is 60 good enough

I made 12 cursed sabatons today at 100 smithing, got 4 0.1 skillups.

So they are at least 101 if not higher.

Not the most optimal skillup item but it does qualify if you have the ichor.

Cursed Hauberk -1 and Cursed Breastplate -1 are both T1 synths without taking your subcrafts to 70. The smithy torque is needed for the breastplate though. Not sure if the subcraft levels were ever determined, but wear your goldsmithing glasses and tanner's mitts as a precaution.

EDIT(12/5/12): Changed the actual levels for Hexed Sune-ate and Hexed Somen.

110 Smithing is my next project, not looking forward to it at all.

How high would the subcrafts need to be to T1?

For the Cursed Hauberk -1 I use my Goldsmithing glasses and Tanners gloves for 60+1 each, no advanced support needed. For the Cursed Breastplate -1, same thing, but you need Advanced Smithing.

Maybe another blacksmith can give some input here, but I don't believe the breastplate to be 104. The screenshot on AH.com shows someone going 2/4 on it, and I went 1/3 on it, it could be crazy luck though. Does anyone have confirmation that it is 104?

Its confirmed 104 people are skilling up on it up to 104.

100-104 is pretty easy.

After that its all pretty much worthless 1mil+ per attempt synths.

I'm pretty content at 104 until something changes.

ill take mine up to 105 just cus wootz amood isnt so bad tbh other then that... yea 110 dont look apealing for what smithing gets out of it

I am making an edit 5 months after my original post after finding out I had posted incorrect levels for two synths.

The following are the correct levels:

Hexed Sune-ate (106) - I previously marked this at 107.
Hexed Somen (107) - I previously marked this at 108.

I've recently hit 107 smithing and was kind of shocked at how I could have messed these up in the first place. Anyways, wanted to fix this in case anyone ever came and checked these.

Are you certain about both their subcrafts being T1able at 60+1, or is this based on a couple lucky HQ's, since you did question the Breastplate actually being 104.

Haub seems to be 96/48/30 according to a JP site, but I cant find anything concrete pertinent to Breastplates subcaps.

Someone claims to have gotten a +0.1 on Cursed BP at lvl 55 leathercraft, so you're not T1ing it at 60+1 leather.

Taint confirmed it being 104 smithing. From another blacksmith, I was told it's not even T1-able with 70 subcrafts, so I don't know anymore.

Albeit old, someone claimed skill up on cursed hauberk at 58 clothcraft.

This means that clothcraft is at least 59. Can anyone confirm whether or not you need more than 70 cloth and gold for t1 on the c.hauberk? The ah page for it has conflicting information. Need to know whether or not to get the goldsmithing specs before attempting.

Maybe he meant 48 cloth? its a 7-8 year old post, so its hard to verify.

7/49 Cursed breastplate -1 with 104+11 smithing 71 leather 71 gold if that hlps anyone with anything just thought id throw it out there

Friend of mine said they went 2/22 on Cursed Hauberks at 70 cloth and 62 gold.
