As far as gear that has the, "Converts damage taken to TP +X."

Is it basically each instance of damage you take you get the listed, "TP+X?" Or do you get TP+X for each point of damage? How does it work?

I just went out and tested this, since I bought Arke Corazza for lockstyle earlier. It does exactly what the description says: it converts the damage you receive into TP. In layman's terms, "12% of the damage you receive is converted to TP (rounded down), and then added to your base TP value". This is additive with STP (which affects the amount of TP you get per being hit).

As an example, if you take 1000 damage with Arke body equipped, you would gain 120 TP exclusively from the body alone, in addition to whatever STP you have equipped at the time you get hit, plus your base value of TP Received. So at minimum 141 TP.

Test:

IMO it's kinda worse as a stat than simply adding STP, because you need to take lots of damage to benefit from it. The Arke set does have -DT, so you can take the hits. The Ratri Breastplate is DT+14%, but for DRK, that's kind of okay since they have high HP pool and are a high-risk, high-reward job (see Scarlet Delirium). The Regal Gloves are similar to Ratri Breastplate too. So if you know you're getting healed and can afford to take additional damage and are idling against something (Aminon, for example), throw the pieces on.

Alternative to Ridill for multihit offhand without needing to throw ~50 Honey Wine at the Aery
Skillup weapon

Price is still tied to rarity and most people probably arent doing the pirates chart mini-fight. Until the use-case is zero, it will still have value. I still have all my char's pirate's chart from the RoE reward collecting dust. I should probably do them just for the inv+1.

It's less delay than a kraken club and with stat bloat and master levels/buffs, you can still hit requisite accuracy levels as an offhand. Underestimated for sure, I used to use one years ago as an alternative to ridill. Very fast for self SC or offhanding for 1h Trials

Is there any know bug with the Voracious Psyche NPC, Elijah?

I do all of my ROEs a day or two after monthly resets, but sometimes I don't go and grab the Psyches immediately.

I did all 15 a few days ago, but didn't pick up the psyches. I went to pick them up today, and he just says thanks for doing your monthly work.

I know I didn't get them, because I had 50 (well until I got my first Stage 5 today). Should have been up to 55.

Anyone else experience him not forking over the psyches?

What methods are there to getting Dark Ores/Beads, because AH camping aint working. I've snagged like 6 in a month. Tree Saplings in the mog house does not count, thats a four week endeavor.

In no order:
1-Amber Cleave Visions of Abyssea areas, Ores can load in gold boxes.
1A-Cleave in Konschtat and desynth dark rings and hope for beads (No good Emp weapon to work on here though doing this)
2-Cleave in Scars of Abyssea areas, Beads can load in gold boxes.
3-Fish up Turnabaligi and turn in to Zaldon and hope for the best (~1% drop rate documented)
4-Plant Tree Cuttings in Garden Furrows, insta-grow with Grow-m-Good and hope for Tree Saplings, plant Tree Saplings in Garden Furrow and then
A-insta grow with Grow-M-Good and repeat.
B-fertilize with Dark crystal and check back in 2 days.
I should hire Susuroon to grow rare items no matter if I do A or B. I'm presuming Elemental Ores would fall under "rare crops" and dark crystal (B only) should make any ores earned Dark Ores.

Have I missed anything?

Others mentioned its value as a multihit offhand. A specific use case I have had a lot for that is doing magian "kill X# of _____" trials. Which are still very relevant since they're required in making/upgrading relic and mythic weapons, or stuff like the still very powerful TP Bonus magian weapons.

For those trials, ideally you want to pull a whole lot of weak mobs (usually Abyssea) then mow that whole pack down with kills from a specific WS. So M.Kris is an ideal weapon for that since you gain TP super fast with the high 2-3x attack rate, AND it does minimal damage so you can avoid inadvertently killing mobs (since you want them to stay alive until you WS). I have found that can actually be a bit of a challenge sometimes if replacing with an ilevel weapon.

I actually just used M.Kris on COR a lot this past week, doing the trials for my recently made Death Penalty (Blurred Dagger+1/M.Kris DW setup). Used it previously on COR when making a TP bonus gun. Several other jobs and random needs for low damage fast tp generation, I find myself still pulling out the M.Kris on occasion and it always stays ready in my satchel.

Something similar happened to me some time ago.
Eventually after zoning and as I kept talking over and over and over and over to the guy, he gave me the psyches.

When you complete Phase 3 of a crafting shield, you are given an Argentum Tome permanent KI for the craft.

If you drop the shield and make another, do you lose the Argentum Tome KI?

It's more than this. Hoxne is best for practically every damage-dealing weaponskill (physical, magic, ranged, etc.) for all jobs.

Really, the only exception is if you're on a job that gets a PDL+ JSE earring (most don't), and the weaponskill is physical, and you're attack capped, and you're using a weaponskill whose damage varies with TP (many don't). Even then, you really need to determine if your potential pDif and PDL are such that the PDL+ from the JSE earring really beat the Hoxne, and/or if you'd be better served getting PDL+ from any of your other gear slots.

Basically, it's either Hoxne/Moonshade, Hoxne/(Alabaster, Thrud, or JSE depending on job and weaponskill mods), Hoxne/JSE(PDL+), or Moonshade/JSE(PDL+) for pretty much all damage-dealing weaponskills.

Also you don't need MR9 for the Hoxne to shine, it starts pulling ahead as soon as MR6 or so, depending on weaponskill.

It's not as straight forward for hybrid and magic. Something like friomisi is going to beat just 20 agi on leaden trueflight shining blade etc

(or its going to be very close, i'm not going to sim it)

I did sim those already, and I have Hoxne pulling ahead. To be fair, though, I did my sims assuming MR9, so the required rank at which Hoxne pulls ahead may be higher than for physical weaponskills.

The problem I see with this logic is that there is actually one Reassembling Technique (permanent KI) per craft, and I bet you are going to lose/gain that KI when you officially restart the shield process. Because I know that KI is lost, it makes me suspect that the other KIs are lost.

My guess is that there are multiple Reassembling Technique KIs to vary the desynthesis recipe main crafts so they match your shield.

How do you know there are multiple reassembling technique KIs?

You've layered several assumptions on top of each other, each one reliant on the last.

-Assuming you lose the KI
-Assuming the KI is unique to the craft
-Assuming KI determines the craft to use

I don't think any of these things are known to the public, so I'd be careful about stating your assumptions/guesses as if they were facts.

Hm! Maybe I don't. I thought I remembered that from when I was scanning my permanent KIs to see which I was missing, but checking the .dats it looks like it's not the case. There's a lot of "Spiffy Synth." KIs (approximately in the right spot for a crafting KI), but that may just be a placeholder.

OK, so possibly in order to collect all KIs for every craft you have to get a Tier 4 shield (not just spend the extra 380k GP on KIs).

I swear I'm not going to get into *that* conversation again, but just to clarify, when you say "stage 4 shield" you mean like "Beveler's Escutcheon", right?

Because yeah, you'd have to actually complete all 8 shields, tossing 7 of them, on the same character to get all KIs.

The one you have when you're doing this phase: https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Escutcheons#PhaseFour

Anyway, you get the Argentum KI at the end of Phase 3, so it's a couple hundred thousand more GP plus weird turnins and RoE quests.

Yeah...but you don't get the Aurum tome until you finish phase 4. So...if you want "all the KIs" then you need to finish the entire shield.

Bonus for the completionist: also a title for finishing. So if you're actually going for 100% completion, you need to finish and toss 7 escutcheons, then finish the 8th one (which you can keep, yay!)

During the Doll Festival, you can trade a sweet rice cake to the moogle in order to obtain an #FES dial key. So take on the activities bit by bit each day and something good might happen!
* You can acquire one #FES dial key per day (Earth time).

▼Acquisition conditions
- Trade the sweet rice cake to the moogle
* The Hume rice cake, Elvaan rice cake, Tarutaru rice cake, and Mithran rice cake are not supported.
SE decided to make this event's #FES keys obtainable only by trading a synth-only item, so predictably the price of sweet rice cakes has skyrocketed making this event's #FES keys anything but festive.

The way they worded it makes it seem like we can get sweet rice cakes from doing "the activities" but there are no such activities. :/

I've read everything I can about Chocobo Racing, but I just can't seem to win the first race.

Why are we allowed to submit ChocoboTrain items (non-Racing) for our retired chocobo? How do we get an updated VCS Registration Card so that our chocobo's stats are updated for the next race attempt?

This is so confusing. I guess I wasn't supposed to retire my chocobo? The order of steps to go from Raising to Racing is not clear. :/

Assuming accuracy isn't an issue or you don't need -DT, is there ever a time when the TVR 10% WSD ring and the Empanda 5% WSD ring are not BIS?

The only examples I can think of is maybe the Archon Ring (Dark Elemental MAB +5%) for Leaden Slaute / Sanguine Blade.
