Su3 is mostly dead and cloth makes the worst set. Cloth doesn't make Su5 weapons. And makes some of the least used Su5 necks.

(*)they could at any moment create a new item that requires clothcraft shield and if you have it before they make it, you will be the winner. It will happen... eventually.

if you intend to farm and desynth your own spheres, you can expect several hundreds of hours of farming, then even more desynthing. of course you can buy them too, if you have the funds. but even the time spent at the focuser is probably 100+ hours.

much of it can be automated if that's your gig, but no matter what its a long, long road. I truly doubt a finished shield has much impact on mastery rank tbh.

If you run out of quests and are still rank 9, with someone confirming a shield will get you rank 10, then consider a shield.

There are literally thousands of quests to complete and titles to get before even considering a shield just for one more quest completed and a title.

That might be what I'm remembering which after I lost it after doing it once felt like a huge waste of time.

Seems like there ought to be a way to get maps if the map works at all. I think someone told me minimap does work for these zones (I don't use that though)
