Random Question thread (FFXI related)

Thanks for responses on KC. Any gearset guides for KC DRG, BST?
Used to be a RNG with KC so pretty sure I know what to equip stat wise when I see it.
But BST and DRG entirely new to.
Thought I was familiar enough with RDM, but that Asuran Fists set kinda told me I dont know ***lol.
Accuracy and STP as much as you can in each slot, avoid DA/TA as much as possible. Then defensive stats where possible. BST can almost just copy exactly what you'd use on RNG. DRG it's gonna depend on what your accuracy requirements are and how squishy you find acceptable.

Agons beastmen in odyssey, after they are meterialized, can be controlled via lullaby, sleepga or entomb?
Thanks in advance

All of the above, yes. Lullaby/entomb works best.

Depends on your set up but yes they are spammable. People in my shell do Maju.

Doesn't much matter what NM you spam, any T3 in zitah/ruaun/reis will be 180 (+up to 11 from luck vorseals) beads. I like Urmahlullu in zi'tah because you have a chance of a pulse weapon and plutons cost basically nothing, but if your server isn't crowded and you have multiple characters it's nice to have the 3 adjacent pop ???s at Reisenjima #9 to skip the respawn time. I prefer Neak to Maju, personally, for a Reisenjima nm.
If you don't have a group or at least multiple characters, you will probably have a difficult time getting beads faster than DI, though.

Well... actually you can crowd control the ones in Sheol A just fine.
But Sheol C ones are completely immune to Lullaby and Sleep, and if I recall the same applies to Sheol B ones.
By Pantafernando 2023-06-28 01:20:43
Yeah, i found the hard way yesterday they cant be lullaby-ed.
So, two other questions: does entomb/break works on them?
And, can those halos be beaten at distance by say a RDM nuking it?

I assume break/entomb don't work, and they are immune to damage unless you're in melee range from what I recall. You just have to be able to tank them.

Stand corrected, and don't remember if entomb works in C. Lullaby does work in A, use it regularly.

Moogle mastery, oddessy.
What is the fastest way to level up mastery in sheol A
Hoping to grant myself a little bit of an edge in my solo oddessy grinds even if it's a bit of a detour from segment farming.

Not really anything fast about it. Kill bosses. Kill mobs. Open boxes. Can't really fast track any of it.
Kill a different boss every floor to get 1111 2222 3333 kills and key boxes.
It's like kill 10/100/1000 Nostos, Kill every boss 1/3/5/10 times and open 1/10/20/50/100 boxes 20 aurums. (not exact numbers)

Lakshmi.Byrth said: * Kill 6 of each NM in Sheol A
* Kill 3 of each NM in Sheol B
* Kill 9 of each NM in Sheol C
* Open 16 Aurum Strongboxes in all 3 zones
* Kill something like 2200 Nostos in all 3 zones (hardest one to be exact about because it is the easiest one to get)

They're buyable with DI points. Nothing drops directly anymore.

I know that this was answered many times, but I'm stupid so please deal with me.
Trying to count a h2h delay, is my math correct in the below situation:
Monk with 1200 JPs gift has a 270 delay;
When using Verethanga the delay goes up to 351;
Therefore the TP gain should be 102 TP per hit. With each hit taking up 0,98 seconds (guessing, that it is rounded up to 1 second), I will need 10 seconds to get a 1k TP?

You also need to take into account martial arts and haste etc. Bgwiki has a good page on all the info:

Well, I was asking about the delay while being naked, but it turns out that the attack speed page describes it way more clearly than the TP gain and delay pages. Thanks for your help!

Naked, you would have a round every 5.85sec (its not rounded to full sec). Hitting twice in a round (assuming no multi attack traits and ignoring kick attack) for 59TP per hit, so it would take you ~52 sec to get 1000TP.

Okay, somewhere I have made a mistake, 'cause it would be weird if with more TP per hit it would take me longer to get 1k TP.
(480 (Base Delay) +xx (+Weapon Delay) -xx(MA Delay Reduction))×(1024 - xx Equipment Haste - xx Magic Haste - xx Job Ability Haste)÷1024 =xx
(480+81-210)x(1024-0-0-0)/1024=xx
351x1024/1024=351
351/60=5,85
181~540 61+[(Delay-180)×88÷360]
61+[(351-180)*88/360)]=61+(171*88/360)=61+41,8=102,8
1000 TP/102,8=9,72
9,72*5,85=56,9
By SimonSes 2023-06-29 08:49:45
61+[(351-180)*88/360)]=61+(171*88/360)=61+41,8=102,8
You have a mistake here. h2h works like dual wield. You need to divide that 351 delay by 2 and calculate tp per hit for each hand individually. So its 59 per hand and 118 per round.

Thank you so much, it worked this time.
Delay 351/2 = 175,5
≤180 61+[(Delay-180)×63÷360]
{61+[(175,5-180)*63/360]}*2={61+(-4,5*63/360)}*2={61+(-0,78)}*2=60,22*2=120,44
1000 TP/120,44=8,30
8,30*5,85=48,57s

This weekend i will give a first try on Sheol so i was checking the restriction in this content.
There, i saw the job restriction, that we cant use the same party setup for subsequent fights. But i also read that you dont need to spend all moglophone II during an entrance.
So, it got me wondering whats the point of this restriction. My interpretation of rules is that I can use my full power setup for a set of 3 NMs, and once i beat the targeted NM, I can simply warp out, retaining 2 moglophone II, add one more moglophone II then reenter to beat the second targeted NM with the full party setup.
So, is there a flaw in this logic? Why would I submit to this job rotation restriction?
Thanks in advance.

if you do 3 fights in one go you charge your moogle amplifier to give more RP. if you're just going for clears at this time don't worry about that til later.
read https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Moogle_Amp. towards the bottom if interested
Adding to what Kuroki said. Supercharging your Moogle amplifier is only worth it if you are doing the fight on the V15 or above. Below, you will just waste your segments, so it is way better to just quit and re-enter.
