Karkadann Solo

So after I heard how many folks though this was a horrible NM I wanted to try and solo it. Stat:

Nin/Rdm

Tossed on Byakko's Haidate for lightning resist + Twilight Torque, out side of that kept on full haste DW DD gear.

Atmas:

Atma of a Future Fabulous
Atma of Vicissitude
Atma of Perfect Attendance

Basically all Regen and M.Def + a little regain and refresh.

Toss up Protect Shell of course. Keep up Refresh, Barthunder, Aquaveil, Stoneskin and Phalanx: Just for fun Enstone.

All you have to do is Ws when you can and keep up debuffs on NM + Keep your buffs up. I was playing it super safe even using Regen and what not, which took about 15 mins. Probably could kill faster if I actually set up macros and did not use single gear set whole time out of laziness.

Doesn't seem particularly worth it to use up all of your atmas on MDB just for Thundaga IV, never seemed too threatening. What was it hitting you for?

Depending how fast he casts Thundaga IV, you could potentially just outrun it, eh?

Beyond that, avoiding Lightning Spear is as easy as strafing. Rampant Stance is absorbed by shadows. Damsel Memento giving Paralyze Aura may honestly end up being the worst part of the fight.

aye you could just /dnc and stun aga and strafe spear which seemed to be coned for decent radius. It was my first time so I went super cautious on it. I will try more DD in future I am sure can be killed solo with no brew in about 10 mins with a couple more kills. How ever I know have all the drops from it lol.

RDM/NIN has been able to solo this since the 85 cap, but I still love to see more people using NIN/RDM so congrats!

Been using Nin/Rdm since tanking JoL with dispel and wheel span at 75...


All 20 jobs 95 and all geared rather well and all fully merited with all general merits capped, 16/20 jobs done pre abby ;)

85 content at 95. More atmas/abyssites than were originally available at release of scars. Level correction was more than likely taken out of the equation even though I don't know his level. 75 more evasion/katana skill than 85s had. On top of that last I checked you're in love with your Evasion Sekka.

And presumably the elimination of level correction.

Factor that in to the fact that ATT has much more value (I think?) since you're not using crit atmas and I'd argue he'd be much more difficult at 85. Both offensively and defensively. You're not impressing people killing stuff rendered harmless by cap increases.

The lvl cap back then was 95? Hmmm....

Means 16/20 merited 75 jobs...

this unfortunately isn't possible. you are cutting corners somewhere, hell i am even with 7 jobs.

Unfortunately it is true. Although it happened quite a while ago, and I don't have a screen shot of it either. I didn't think it was possible, back he backed it up with something like, "Well my NIN is awesome, I used to run a HNM LS back in the days and I'm awesome so whatever"
