Personally I think they should have 2 different GP items for each guild for the day, to at least give you some flexibility. Since each item has it's own GP caps, perhaps make it to once you turned in 1 of the 2 requested GP items that it locks you into that 1 item for the rest of that day till JP midnight.

i had a similar idea to this but it really wouldent work for fishing. almost all other crafts hq, y not count hq items on a diffrent guild counter then the nq items.
for example, take woodworking say u need to hand in 15 maple wands to max out at 2k points. now for a veteran, hq'in these are cake. so you can hand in 15 nq's and maybe 7.5 hq's and get 2k for the nq's and 2k for the hq's.
would make things alot easier...except for fishing >.>...but hey maybe we can think of something and have it posted on teh offical forums lol
bonecrafting goldsmithing woodworking and probably alchemy on my main + fishing
today im gonna get serpents rumours from gp.
is ter anything else thats REALLY important for fishing or can i start working on some of the important one's for the other crafts ?
alos the ufrniture for moglifications. im i right in thinkin you cna only have on moglification effect at a time ? so i kinda haveto chosse between fishing or my other main crafts ?

Nah, nothing else is really important. You can only have 1 moglification up at once too.

do you still get +1 skill bonus from the furniture though ?
so i could get both skil lbonues for cooking and for fishing ?
I'm pretty sure you don't get +1 skill bonus from the furniture, you get the +1 bonus from the moghancement that the furniture provides. So, since you can only have 1 moghancement up at once, I would guess the answer to be: no, you cannot get both skill bonuses at the same time.
Does anybody else ever forget to swap into fishing gear? When I fish I clear my inventory of pretty much everything non-fishing related, except for herald's gaiters to get to/from my fishing spot more quickly. But once I get to my fishing location, I almost ALWAYS forget to swap into the waders. 2+ hours will go by before I finally look at my feet and realize I've been fishing in the gaiters the whole time.
I know the +2 fishing skill makes little to no difference, but I spent all that time getting 70k guild points so I should at least use them for what I got them for: to fish.

I have a small mental checklist that I go through every time I get ready to fish on both my characters, then I double check it. It has happened to me before that I forgot to take off my blood cuisses, but I guess because of the job that I go on (BLU/BLM) I never miss out on my waders :3
BTW the <wait 2> is nice because as soon as the macro fails, I know I'm in the beginning stages of fatigue.
I've been using this macro for many years. Works great. Putting /wait2 before /fish , you will never get the 'You must wait longer to fish' message until you become fatigued. Nice to get a heads up on that.
My fishing macro is almost exactly like that. I like having the echo at the beginning just so that I have confirmation that the macro was actually pressed. Before I put in the echo, there were times that I'd hit my macro (or think that I did) and wait and wait and wait and I'd never begin fishing. This was back on the original fishing system when the recast timer on /fish started out at like 14 seconds. So, if you accidentally let go of CTRL before you hit the 1 key, you wouldn't know right away since you were waiting 14 seconds regardless.
Anybody else fish back on the pre-fight system? Back when wearing fishing skill gear was extremely beneficial... Every 10 levels of fishing skill dropped the recast on /fish by an additional second, meaning more fish caught per hour. Those were the days...
Yeah. I actually preferred that fishing system then this one. back then I could carry on a conversation with people. Now it's /fish *type out a sentence* -fight fish for 30 seconds- *type sentence* /fish *type sentence* -fight fish for 30 seconds-
That and fighting gugs on a PC suuuuucks. I'm so tempted to get a copy for my PS2 just to make fishing them easier...
And SE, you need to reduce the tile requirements for Mannequins. If you think you have to cut down the space provided by them to make it 1 square do it. Please. She doesn't need 9 squares. -.-
And so it begins, the quest to get Net And Lure and then Fishing Hole Map.
I refuse to do GP today, I don't even think that jellyfish would push me to 200,000 GP, and even if it did **** them.
I waited this long and never did "Amateur" rank GP, and I wont start now :P
I haven't done fishing GP in ages (actually had like 400k in the bank before the new stuff was released), but iirc the merchant down by the boat in bibiki bay sells jellyfish. I don't know if it's something people check, or if it can sell out, but back when I did GP he always had enough.
There are fishing topics that come up now and then but mainly are asking a question for a single answer. I know there are many fishers that visit these forums so this is an attempt to get people involved and have a little fun discussing one and only one thing, fishing!
The emotions of fishing.
I know Blue Gartr has a Fishing topic already, but I would like to see this community get involved a little bit and talk, since not everyone visits BG. I would love to have a topic just for fishers including veteran fishers, casual fishers, and even players just starting out and want to ask a few questions without being embarrassed about starting a whole topic for a simple answer they could not find.
I only ask that you keep any bot talk to a minimum, preferably none.[Moderator edit: No bot talk] I want this to be a place where we can discuss anything from GP items of the day to what lure/bait to use or what area is best. A quick mention of how you're doing on the lu shang/ebisu quest, how you're doing getting your fishing items from Grounds of Valor, that item you're saving your GP up for, or how much you wish you could hurt Zaldon for not finding anything in your fish for the 10,000th time. Your lucky moment streaks and the moments when you have nothing come your way and question why you started fishing in the first place. Anything that comes to mind, think of it as the random thoughts thread for fishing.
I will list a few resources that I find to be useful when it comes to fishing:
BG Fishing Topic Great Blue (Amazing Site <3, is out dated since 2008 but an amazing resource regardless) Final Fishing (Another great resource with one of the most in-depth guides made. Out of date though.)
Fish Size Chart [GE][Wikia] Chenon Diary (The site seems to be down for good though, it was a site made for Fish Ranking)
I shall add more if people provide good resources.
