Nobody's forcing you to read it bud. If it's getting so annoying, why doesn't someone educate me on what obama is doing that has been successful?
I get this strong feeling it wouldn't matter, even if someone made an itemized list of everything good he's done, you still wouldn't be happy and would still say he's "done nothing".
I don't remember saying "it's easy to start a business" because I did and I know it isn't easy especially with all the regulations for small business. My point, which you failed to understand, is instead of bitching that someone owes you something (protestors), start your own business and compete with the people you are pissing at. Just because you get a degree doesn't mean you are entitled to a job and if you don't like the cost of college, DON'T GO.
You keep claiming they're protesting things they aren't protesting.
The second someone pulls up the points on what they're protesting and why you clearly ignore them and continue to claim wild things, flip flop, and point fingers.
Grow up, take a stance, research it, and stop attacking invisible strawmen.

You've already been told probably 50 times on this site alone over the past year. Seriously, shut up and stop cluttering up threads with your stupid uneducated ***.
Well, we'll do that when you capitalize proper nouns and use correct punctuation. Maybe we'll take you more seriously too.

Protestors are pissing and moaning about various issues, like no jobs, college is too expensive, blah blah and I'm saying that they need to protest at the white house because obama is responsible for the further decline of this economy.
I'll humor you. It's his fault. What would you do differently?
I like how liberal is a slur. A liberal, someone open to new views and willing to discard the old traditions.
If you look into the context of the time, you will see:
-Liberals called for the reform of labor and made workplaces safe.
-A liberal freed the slaves.
-Liberals fought for racial equality.
-Liberals started student aid.
-Liberals started environmental regulations
-It was the liberals that gave women rights.
-Liberals are why you have minimum wage.
-Does the GI Bill sound familiar? They did that, too
-Liberals are why no kid is hungry at school.
You can call me a liberal as a slur because I believe in the betterment of the people, but I will take that word off the ground where you toss it and wear it as a badge of *** honor.
Because I'm proud to support the people of my community, my country, my world, my whole damn species, and I will fight for them.

Despicable.
I hope you weren't thinking I (and probably Z as well) were considering liberal as a slur. Didn't mean it that way at all. I am just more conservative. However, I believe it is the combination of liberal and conservative views that help maintain a balance in this nation.

So you don't like people slandering your views, yet you sterotype conservatives as people who only care about profits. Okay, well the world is a little more complicated than that. Learn to listen to people who are willing to listen back. You think way too highly of yourself. You are one of seven billion, you are unimportant.
Also, learn to realize profit is not a bad word. I'll give you a recent example of what dirty profit-makers have given the people of this world.
Quote:
Malaria vaccine may have potential to save millions....
The project is a collaboration among GlaxoSmithKline, the PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It is being funded in part by more than $200 million in grants from the Gates Foundation and $300 million from GlaxoSmithKline.
Work with people, not against them and you may accomplish more than you realized. But carry on getting pissed at this post.

No, I'm not stereotyping conservatives as that.
I'm calling him out on his personal behavior, as he's demonstrated in the previous page or two.

I'm not attacking you but here is why I am curious about how you think you are conservative... conservatives believe in the free market system, competitive capitalism, and private enterprise create the greatest opportunity and the highest standard of living for all. Free markets produce more economic growth, more jobs and higher standards of living than those systems burdened by excessive government regulation. The fact that you don't think obama hasn't worstened the state of the economy since bush, based on liberal policies and even socialist in some cases, just doesn't make sense to me if you think you are more conservative. I'm just asking man, I'm not trying to attack you here.
Go back and find one comment I made in support of the protests, or one comment I made against the free market system. I was simply pointing out that Obama is not the sole blameholder for the situation this country is in, and it pissed you off so badly that you failed to actually read anything I wrote.

You really need to backread if you want to get a feel for what kind of conservatives we are.

Even if you did manage to repeal it (and good luck with a guaranteed democratic filibuster), what you're going to have is uninsured sick people coming into the emergency room, requiring care, which comes from taxpayer dollars anyway. You could deny them care, but then you'd have to deal with a whole slew of problems as a result. Or you could just slash medicare and medicaid altogether, like some far-rightists advocate. Even then, it's only 20% of the federal budget, and we're spending 160% of the federal income. You'd still be 28% over the budget. What's next? The debt clock is ticking, Mr. President.
So you can use non-Americans for work, but they can't be here in the US? How much sense does that make? Furthermore, this isn't a Republican stance. Conservative economics dictate that tariffs of any kind are bad.

Here is where I would start:
-Repeal obamacare
-Stop giving aid to illegal immigrants (healthcare, $ for school, etc..)
-Lower taxes on small business so they have more funds to hire employees, put more money into the business for growth
-Put tariffs on China
-Get our troops out of all these unnecessary countries unless they pay us for the support and get them on the borders of our country
-Reduce the size of gov't
-Require immigrants who come legally to learn English
-Stop federal spending and un-regulate the private sector
Thats where I'd start. I agree that something needs to be done with healthcare but the answer isn't being run by gov't.
-disagree with you on health care. Obama actually should have done more in that direction(but then again i am talking as EU citizen).
-agree 100% here on illegal immigrants, not against immigrants (which should be wisely regulated).
-agree with you on taxes on small businesses. In addition Obama administration must work on cloving loopholes that allow financial havens and repatriate cash stored abroad AND tax it (together with higer taxes with higer incomes).
-Agree with you on protectionist policy on China. However taht is not possible because of the fear of backlash (china owns a big chunk of US economy).
- agree 100% on requiring immigrants to learn english.
-disagree here. Private sector should be kept in check. the current financial crysis ids due largely to the private banking sector being allowed to run too free for too long.
Edit: forgot military abroad. have to remind you that US military is spread all around the globe and not just in afghanistan. In italy alone there are 5 military bases. Military is at the moment one of the few things that keep US influence and keep the country alfoat imo.
I just don't see where they are that much worse though.
I have been sitting here trying to think how to explain why I say its not much worse without giving up too much personal information, but its tough.
I can tell you large companies are spending a lot more money on raw materials and products than they were during the Bush era. It has been a steady increase for the past 5 years, and is looking to continue to increase for the next 2. The media is affecting the stock market more than anything, because companies are spending more money, just not on labor.
I am not in support of Obama care. I have private insurance through the company I work for, and Obamacare has greatly increased the cost of my private insurance, which pisses me off.
I do not claim to be a part of either political party, because their lack of cooperation with each other is disgusting.
I am against tax breaks for any size business. These tax breaks always wind up costing me, or my children. That money has to come from somewhere.

People who are educated and know of history of even the past 100 years and know economics know that everything you described there is doomed to fail and fail bad.
Obama hasn't "worstened" the economy, he stabilized it. Hell right after he was elected the economy took a boost, it wasn't sustained though due to the fact that the cost of living hasn't gone down any.
You want a good reason as to why people don't like the bailouts that have been used and why the tax cuts on the rich need to be removed?
Trickle down economics is a myth for starters, tax cuts on the upper class have been down since 2004, and the market has sunk since, no jobs, only the top pad their profits.
There's a proven method to get out of a bad economy: infrastructure spending. Who's pushing for that again?
Innovation is another way, however our last frontier (space) we as a nation have pretty much given up on, which is in effect dooming us. (Bush and Obama are at fault here).
Lastly the current plan to spend on infrastructure can be paid for by increasing the tax on the wealthy.
Last thing to note: without the poor and middle the wealthy wouldn't exist, we will always exist, the masses being unhappy is how revolts/riots/change happen, and right now we're unhappy.
Well, it's been going on for almost 2 weeks now so I guess it's newsworthy, yet I haven't seen much about it. It's a protest on Wall Street, primarily on the greed and corruption that festers in that area. Between government bailouts of big banks, lobbyists being the directors of lawmaking, and politicians who give in to these obvious benefits, we've seen a great deal of corruption in the US as of late.
Just May of this year, Obama's appointed Meredith Baker went from being the FCC Commissioner to a top lobbying position for Comcast-NBC. Something, just months prior she had used her FCC vote to try and benefit. An obvious conflict of interest.
Or how about General Electric(GE) getting tax refunds by making its profits all off-shore.
Now, this certainly isn't a Cairo sized event, but it very similar to how their protests began. It started with a large group of young citizens, of course. It's usually a common dismissal for some people. "Yeah, yeah, they're college aged kids who think they'll make a difference, whatever." The fact is, is that protests will always come from this group first and foremost. They don't have the daily responsibilities of taking care of a family which ties older age groups down. Not that different age groups can't support them via the means of internet media.
Well, anyway, there has also been accounts of police misconduct. The protests have been primarily peaceful sit-ins, regardless there was use of pepper spray in one instance.
If you're interested, keep your eye on this movement. I doubt it will be a revolutionary event, but it does express a lot of popular disdain for current issues with corruption.
