Which one is best for decked out level 90 SCH?
I have Scholar and Black Mage currently nuking in Cognition Belt. I examined someone and saw this sash and I am wondering if its better.

Any thoughts? And please don't do lots of math craziness because chances are I won't understand. Keep it simple. :)

Well I'm talkin inside and outside of abyssea. I nuke in Gleeman's on Sch and Goetia Mantle on Blm only because I was told that I had enough MAB that i didnt need to nuke with Searing Cape. Im not sure if the same applies to SCH though since it seems to be mostly int on that job which is why I'm wondering if the Onieros Sash is better at least for Sch.

You should probably stop listening to whoever told you that. It's the best full-damage nuking back (barring Twilight if active), though Goetia has a place for resistant NMs.

I'm pretty sure you'd be nuking in your elemental obi if you're a SCH.

Well I only have light, ice, and thunder obis. Too lazy to make the rest + I dont have a lot of inventory space.

Its still not answering my question though about the waist besides the obi comment

How about this, go put one on and nuke some thing. Fairly sure (even eyeballed) you will notice the difference.

MAB vs. INT on your waist, which is better specifically for SCH but can apply to BLM I guess

Yeah, it doesn't take long at all these days. I knocked it out in like 2 days, and one of those was extremely lax

Well i use the tier V spells a lot because they often do more than tier IV with weather and ebullience etc, but I'm not the type of sch that changes storms to cater to every elemental spell I cast. I usually stick with one if I know I'll most likely be using that element the most.
I don't have a fire or wind obi thats why I asked which is the better waist. But it seems like I should probably just farm the obis. I was wondering which would be more significant for elemental spells with no obis

I have all 8 obis, but you see, there is a trick. I only ever carry the Obi of the day and the one for the weather I'm casting (if they happen to be different). The rest I keep in my mog sack, but back to the original topic: Obis>Onieros>Cognition

not entirely sure how other fully geared sch can manage to make room for obi's yes yes i know about keeping an obi for day and one for weather you choose to keep up, but seriously with just 1 basic nuke waist amongst the plethora of other gear and the echoes (1x12 in active) im at 78/80 and i dont even have owleyes or the SS-cast time hands. can someone tell me what you are gimping set wise to afford the obis?

i'm dead serious btw

My WHM is that full, and I don't carry an active PDT set on me, among other things that would be 'optimized' for other situations. I'm guessing they just satchel/sack the other obis until they need them, but yeah. :x

I don't know if anybody has said this and i frankly dont care to read through what ppl have said. But in general for nukes MaB is ~2.5 times more powerful than INT. so use that as a general rule of thumb of what is better. 3MaB > 7INT. by how much i dont know but it'll do more.

thats funny cause ppl also say bugard strap is better then wise.
bugard has int 1
wise has 3% magic critrat that is 3% chance of 10mab boost which is an 0.3mab on average

with afv3+2 gloves its 3% chance of 15mab boost which puts the average on 0.45mab

2.5*0.45mab = 1.125 so wise strap should be 12.5% better than bugard for nukes in average

i not saying you are wrong just saying that there is contradiction info in this forum and i would like to see some more in depth explanation/test

Isn't the discussion About Oneiros Sash vs. Cognition Belt?
Since sash has 4 MaB actually, I cannot see the difficulty here.
If it is as you said The Sash would even beat 8 INT not to mention 50 MP difference between the two.
Unless you SCH's have INT based DoT nukes as well I'd fulltime in Sash.
