That's not always the case on higher tiered nukes.

Depends, I don't really know much about blm gear, but I think 2int constitues to just under 1 mab for tier IV spell?
Gonna need an expert here :<

depends on what you're doing

or if you're lazy or bad at math

Second one is a bit outdated, though. Higher tiered nukes get a larger bonus from magic attack bonus because of the higher base damage.

As well-meaning as the people who came up with this rule of thumb and the 320/120 rule may have been, I have to wonder if these two concepts haven't done more harm than good in the long run.

probably closer from 1mab~1.8int these days from testing i was doing on t5's when was release, but remember mab is pure dmg int is dmg/macc.
has for mab vs int in abby if you use atma/ultima with macc on it & you'll prema use MM for 50int/+10 refresh, so u can afford to stack mab over int in gear most the time. (personally i stack mcit gear when possible better returns over time when u close to 20-25% activation rate) & not seen many resists.
outta abby on voidwatch etc u wanna be using int over mab till u not resisting, this depends totally on what u fighting tho.

The 1MAB~1.8INT ratio held back at Level 75. I did the math a long time ago, but it would be still relevant to the OP's question.

I _am_ somewhat surprised the ratio is still close to 1.8, though I'm guessing this was outside Abyssea.

Its dependant on a lot of things, which is why ppl always said things like 120/320 and 2int~1mab rules were always out the window because theyre subjective to player/mob stats.

For instance the optimal nuking set for a tier IV spells has the ratio at 1.43 for my elvaan, swap that set and put it on a taru with merits and its 1.52. Change the mobs int around and that number also changes.
