Arkleons!

I was tempted to do an NM that everyone and their grandmother knows.
But I decided to do Brygid. Then I realised she doesnt wear a hat. D;

Bump!

Had quite a few ideas for this weeks challenge. Most of them have been done already though, haha! I'm try to start something on Wednesday.
It's my Dad's B-Day tomorrow so I'm taking the day off. The other reason I'm taking a break tomorrow is because I'm fed up of raging against my laptop being a pain, to put it somewhat mildly.

Speaking of laptops. I'm curious if anyone here does anything art related with a laptop? The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of investing in a new laptop specifically for art.
After a tiny bit of research and looking up recommendations, I'm leaning towards an Alienware product. The main reasoning behind my logic is that if it's built for games, it should surely be able to run any program used for art fine, no?

Most of my entries were made on a laptop, but i just doodle things in my (large) spare time. xD
That's a point.
What art program would you guys reccomend? I've only been using paint for everything i doodle. Need something good to make half-decent doodles when it gets down to it! Suggestions and entries, go!

Paint Tool SAI is very popular and cheap. Like $50 or so for the full version. Trial lasts forever, but after 30 days it restricts what you can do with it.

Photoshop is popular, but iirc it's VERY expensive.

However, if you're willing to put enough work into it, Paint can do anything Photoshop or SAI can, other than filters.

Entrywise: I've almost finished the line art for the head. <_<

Hmm, how much is the restriction on paint tool sai?
And i was looking at photoshops and they were like £100+~, is that worth it? xD

Aye, that's pretty much what I'm hearing from people. I personally doubt I'll be doing any video editing but anything's possible lol. If I ever did I don't really see it being anything uber fancy.



If MS Paint had layers and my tablet worked properly in it, I'd most likely use MS Paint pretty much all the time. Offhand suggestions are either Photoshop, Paint SAI (I can't remember if that's free or not) or The Gimp (free).
Personally I use Gimp. Originally when I started self-teaching myself digital medias (why did I bother going to college?), I wasn't sure if it would be something I could get into. Basically, I didn't want to shell out for PS and never use it.
There's a few other good one's but I can't remember them offhand. DeviantART's muro thingi seems quite good though. I should monkey around with that when I can be arsed.

Well, you can't download any extra brushes or tools. Nor can you make custom brushes. And you can't open images with it. So if you start something, you have to finish it before you close the program or it'll have been time wasted.

I wish I had talent...

Lol, I never draw to win. If I see a topic and think of an idea and make myself laugh, I share it, no matter how pitiful it looks, lol.

Which is the entire point of the MSPaint Challenges. And why we continue to tell people to enter, regardless of their abilities.

I wish I had skills really, I can only really use digital art programs cos I often have trouble controlling how hard I draw lines and things xD
