No.

Haste Samba (35% vs. 25%) and more Dual Wield (48% vs. 33%), we match THF's Triple Attack with twice as much Double Attack thanks to Saber Dance, SE throws STP at us on AF3+2, etc.

Also I think the additional 15% dual wield alone (no saber dance) beats an equivalent amount of triple attack at least after haste (and assuming capped gear), but Byrth will have to back up or correct me on that.

Haste and dual wield are exponential returns, triple attack and double attack are not. Dual wield easily wins, especially when you factor in the less delay you have, the more chances you have to get in DA/TA.

yeah
you're right, i wasn't arguing with you XD

i know the math off the top of my head for DA vs. delay reduction, but not for triple attack, and neither did i want to assert something that i didn't know off the top of my head nor think about doing the math at this point in the morning, lol.

i just realized i had quoted byrth and said "no" which wasn't necessarily clear as to what i was saying No to, lol.

I personally have not confirmed this so its just speculation at this point, but i was reading that TH Will proc on WS'd SA/Ta's you just lose the animation for it.
I suppose it would be easy enough to test.... if you could get a mob that lasts more then 10 seconds anymore >.>

i've been hearing that it does too, but most of the time you want confirmation that you've increased the potency of the one thing you were actually there to do, i'd think.

Bah with how flakey TH is, why dose it matter to see what number you are at....
ive, on more occations then i would like to admit, seen better drops with no th applied then 7-8+ on the stack -.-

TH definitely does proc on WSs, SA and TA or no. There's just no animation. There's no reason to not SA/TA->WS on THF, but there also aren't that many opportunities for it these days.

you miss 5% of the time even at capped accuracy
but you don't say "i'm not going to cap accuracy because i'll still miss occasionally"

similarly, a higher chance for drops is a higher chance for drops.

edit: although a lot of stuff i've done recently, people have tried to get like th8 or whatever and then just smack stuff into the ground.

I duoed Indirk with a WHM on Dancer before I ran out of Stalwart's Tonic, I don't know if I would have needed Acc food on it. =p

Sole Sushi really should be overkill on anything in Abyssea. I've used it for Flame Skimmer in the past, but I've been trying to use up the stack I bought at 75 DNC... well... since 75 DNC.

The regain effect SE plans to implement will probably be some shitty TP drain, that doesn't even drain the TP.

IDK, did you check the SAM job responses?

SAM Manifesto Dev Responses

I want an ability like “Tactician’s Roll” that provides TP regain to party members.
SE said:

This ability may be possible if it consumes your TP like “Shikikoyo” does. I will look into this.

Along that line though, I'm trying to think of a Samba that would be worth using over Haste Samba.

Here's my first idea:

Stalwart Samba
Reduces damage taken by party members.

Inflicts daze blah blah blah benefiting party members have damage taken reduced.

I was thinking of it working in two different ways, either.

a.) pre-cap straight -25% DT or
b.) pre-cap -50% DT with 50% activation rate

Pre-cap meaning it's calculated before the DT cap, like Fan Dance.

Thoughts? Any other ideas for useful alternative sambas?
