Proto-Ultima

Was wondering if any groups out there had any plans in the near future to kill Proto-Ultima. Not interested in any drops, just want in for the win.

I'm up for this, when I was on alexander it was nothing but omega spawn no ultima in the ls's I was in, I'd love the win for the atma if anyone has a spare spot.

You two are about three days late :(. I built up a set with a couple of friends and did it on Sunday. It doesn't give enough coins and I'm stocked full of temenos items but I'd be willing to help you guys with the actual fight. I've done it twice at 90, last time with 5 characters and me triboxing - he's very easy but you just can't be moronic.

What would be a good low man strategy for Ultima at 90?

You can survive citadel buster with 1400 hp + 400 stoneskin from solace'd cure6 + unmerited shell5. I survived with a few hundred hp so go from there.

The key is that it is pre-blue mage so it's highly susceptible to head butt. You keep a blue mage in melee range un-engaged and head butt spamming while under a subtle blow build tanking and DDing on nin. It rarely tp's and gets stunned often - maybe 3~4 moves before 20% hp. This has an added bonus in that if your stunner lets dissipation go off, it'll go after the blue mage rather than the mages.

The fight is a joke until under 20% when citadel buster goes off - then everything goes to ***. I'd recommend just burning it after this - but make sure a core group (nin + whm or whatever you have) is out of range in case it gets off another buster.

Each time we've fought this someone was dead when it was killed and each time they got full credit - in other words you get the title on death as well. I've done this twice at 90, both in lowmanning scenarios. If you have any questions I'm here.

*My ninja has an mdb Katana. That was the only gear-based mdt/mdb I had.

There's your issue. Get a MDT/MDB set ffs. 24% MDT and extra MDB would prevent a lot more damage.
