hi lol <3

You are probably right, Slip, for someone who was used to it, the destruction of the buildings themselves might not have been a huge deal. (Of course, the loss of life inside the buildings as well as the planes and the health complications from the debris and smoke afterwards is something I hope none of us ever gets used to.) I was just raised in such a set environment, where buildings were not torn down even if they were not used, that buildings tend to seem permanent for me. I know it's not true, buildings are indeed changeable. I just haven't seen it often in my lifetime.
The loss of life definitely bothered me, and it still does.. The saying is 'all is fair in love and war' but I have to draw the line at normal everyday civilians.. I'm sure I can safely assume most of the people who died in the attacks had nothing at all to do with the army, at best most were associated with it through kinship, but that's still not an excuse.

I feel as every other American does, at the loss of life, however, I don't share the same mentality over the physical property destruction, for those who are not used to such devastation, I'm sure it was an awe inspiring sight, but a few buildings collapsing really doesn't hold a candle to the aftermath I witness every time some moderate-severe hurricane rolls through.

The guy she killed was Wilhelm and his son was Maximillion. My grandfather's name is Wilhelm and if I have a son I Maximillion is on the list! It was a great movie! Maybe Tarentino's best!

Yeah sorry, I meant to add an extreme 'do not watch this if' disclaimer, I went back and edited it though..

I still feel everyone should see it, but I'm not going to try and force it on anyone, it is disturbing, but it can help you make a connection to 9/11 you never even knew you had.

Max was supposed to grow up and play catch with his daddy! *shakesfist*

On another note, you guys are within sibling age for me, as my brother is 30. My other brother turns 25 in June. Ya know, I've never asked my oldest brother where he was at. I know he was at UGA, but I don't know any details. Huh. I think I'll ask him about it sometime now.

Had just finished school and was heading to a friends house. When we got there his mother said "Two planes have just flown into the WTC" I looked past her to see the TV and actually said "oh awesome, what movie is this?" Took a few seconds to realise, this aint no movie. My friend showed no interest in it whatsoever and was just like "ok lets go play video games" >.> Frankly id much rather sit to hear about wtf is going on.

The aftermath i remeber well too... Madblast, Joecartoon and Newgrounds became flooeded with Osama and George Bush cartoons and games...

It's a good effort, and I can appreciate very much trying to understand but a video can't replicate the feelings of being close to it. I'm 20ish miles out, but even that can't compare to the people who were in the city that day. Just like I can feel bad for New Orleans during Katrina, but I can't truly understand it.

It's all in your ability to experience empathy, I'm not going to say that by listening to that video I know exactly what he felt, but I can build a pretty damn good idea of it.. I know what it feels like to know you're about to die, and that, that death is most likely not going to be completely painless, add in a common fear of severe heights (I'm actually okay up until about 60 feet, then it turns into a fear) and I can understand, to a good extent, of what he felt.

You are correct, a video can never put you there, and make the experience as real for you as it was for anyone else, but a video can certainly help you understand, and to an extent even feel, what others felt.

Wasn't saying you were.. this is kind of a delicate matter, I'd rather over-elaborate than have someone assume something else of me. The reply was mostly because you pointed out that being there is a much different experience, which made me realize that my comments may trivialize someone's experience who happened to be there.. I didn't want to seem like I knew/felt everything that people who were there did..

Do you practice pronunciation any? If you're listening to videos and stuff, find one with a Stockholm accent since that's the most neutral one. Skånska is just HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE and I can't understand them a lot of the time >_>
