PDT Axe Path

Hi all,

I've just started the axe trial and I want to eventually get to PDT, is there a guide anywhere on the path i should take? Looking at the wiki just confuses me after a while. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to do:

296 - x50 Crabs - under any elemental weather
330 - x50 Bees - under ice, earth, water or dark weather
339 - x50 Any Type of Monster - under earth weather or day.
340 - x75 Lizards - same as above
343 - x75 Amorphs - A pet must kill under earth day or weather
344 - x150 Bombs - same as above
1332 - x150 Arcana - same as above
1333 - x200 Skeletons - same as above
2007 - x250 Aquans - same as above
2408 - Trade x15 Soil Geodes.

Rewards you with:

Guichard's axe +2
DMG: 64 Delay: 276
VIT+9
Pet: Physical damage taken -10%

Pretty easy really.

Crabs in Vunkerl Inlet (S) for your first trial, there's constant thunder weather there.

Crawlers Nest / (S) both have bees and have rainy weather, so I'm told. I always did mine in the present version. Only thing about the present area is TWs can show up, so you can Charm/Leave until an EP shows up.

The Eldime Necropolis (S) usually has earth weather, so you can do the next trial there.

Attohwa Chasm was a pretty nice place to do the lizards trial, just watch for the NM Scorpion, Sargas. It can slow you down and make you lose time.

Next 4 trials can all be done in The Eldime Necropolis (S).

-Gazers for your Amorph trial.

-Djinns for your bomb AND Arcana trials.

-Skeletons near the djinns for your skeleton trial.

Last trial I did in Mount Zhayolm. There were plenty of pugils and crabs along the shore. There was plenty of earth weather there so it didn't that all that long to finish the trial. Only thing is to watch for the ghosts that can pop at night.

What sub and pet did you use Stefanos?

Sheep is cheap and expendable so I stuck with that. I didn't have /DNC leveled up at the time, so I went with /NIN. I'd recommend /DNC if you have it. If you can afford it, the lynx pet can rip through mobs, at least in my experience.

I know you never asked me, but still.

Use the sheep or the rabbit, the cheapest basically. They brutalise old content mobs.

If you use sheep make sure you have 3 merits in beast affinity so your sheep is 88-90, instead of 83-85.

I thought Nazuna's cap was level 86? But anyway, didn't mean to derail . . .

For trial 330 (bees) I would recommend finding a lv 15-20 and syncing in either Kons, La Theine or Tahrongi. I came BST/WHM and I would teleport to Dem, Holla & Mea and found weather pretty frequently.

I did this recently and went to Nest , there are 6 there so you only need 2 periods of rain to finish, not at all hard. Also a good spot to do the next trial (50 mobs in certain weather)

i did bees in ifrit's cauldron and had pretty often water weather also there are 8-10 spawns at entrance and they die pretty quick.

BTW, Is Nazuma really capped at 86?

If you plan on doing 2 axes, some of the trials can be doubled up to save time.

339 - x50 Any Type of Monster - under earth weather or day. can be done with any of the other trials.

344 - x150 Bombs - under earth weather or day. can be done with any.
1332 - x150 Arcana - under earth weather or day. can be done with any.

Can be done together too

Yeah haha I figured this when I did the Arcana; well, I'll level DNC then doing th whole thing again I guess!
